Has Sheehan Got What It Takes?

Sheehan doesn’t want it to end of season. He wants permanent or he walks
Think he tried to force the clubs hand, rightly or wrongly, to give him the job. Why didn't he sit tight and be judged at the end of the season? He steadied the ship with decent results against Blackburn and. Middlesbrough, but uninspiring performances against Preston, Watford and today.

There's no doubt that we can be a top 10 side in this division with the right structure and investment and that's that's maybe the best thing we can be, there's far to much money in the Premiership for us to be able to compete in it, look at Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton who came up last season for an example Ipswich and Leicester are 7pts away from safety and Saints 15.
Yeah, mid table, competitive in every game, easy on the eye, and throw everything at a decent cup run would be fine in my eyes Max. We could aspire to yo-yo, but I think that’s a decade away if it’s even possible. As I say from where we are, stabilisation and survival needs to be the first priority, for the next year or two, and that means defending properly and stop giving games away. We won’t win many games if we have to score 2 or 3 from behind every week.

One question I still have is why Ronald is being picked every single game. I’m certainly not blaming him for defeat today, or even saying he’s alone in his total nothingness, but he’s added nothing much after starting every game and finishing most…or so it seems.

Yeah he’s done the steady the ship he thinks and now wants to cash it . Club want him to stay till we’re safe almost but he’s trying to push the hand now

We're two points closer to the drop than we were before Williams was given the boot.

He's hardly in a position to hold the club to ransom.

And he's even talking the period that he has been in charge as a success and done better than expected.

I respect what he is doing but I'm starting to see through his front.

If he's behaving as suggested, then he's lost any respect I had for him.

Throwing his toys out of the pram because they won't give him the gig on a permanent basis.

You have form for saying stuff, then deleting stuff - even Threads. Threads you started, then deleted. Fact.

It's time you substantiate your claims, surely.
Else youe're just another random chancer making stuff up, for clicks, no ?

I think Cardiff winning at Blackburn today pits some perspective on Sheehans first win at home v Blackburn.

We aren't improving we are getting worse indr Sheehan....how many passes went astray today?
What is the strategy hit.long balls up front

Players have had their little initial bounce since he came in and that's gone from their sails now.

He's not the answer and if he is acting like he either gets the job now or he walks then off he goes.

Pretty sure Vital posted the same time as me today saying Sheehan would be last game because he wants permanent and club don’t want to rush. But yeah ..

Yes, you already said

Agree. I was all for the bounce and think it's starting to slightly show Sheehans lack of experience. Again, I like the guy and comes across well and cannot fault him wanting us to play forward, but he needed to coach the team to be less sloppy. Control the ball the right way. This is not his sole fault as it happened all season, but I'm starting to think we do need that fresh back room staff, someone who has experience and go to basics. Burnley did nothing special today. They just did the basics well. There is no forgiving giving the ball away like we did today, easy passes given away. That's still bad coaching no doubt.

It never ceases to amaze me how people fall for a few wins in a honeymoon period. How many times does that happen after a manager leaves? Does that make him the right man to grow the club? Of course it bloody doesn’t.

That’s why I was suggesting a Jack legend to take over for a short run when Williams was on brink. Did I think that was a long term answer of course not! It’s just for a breather to buy time and get the right man not another mistake.

Sheehan would be the appointment of a club with zero ambition and destined to plummet.

Breaking news: Absolutely nobody will ‘have what it takes’ until the squad weaknesses are addressed. If and when the squad is strengthened then whoever is in charge at that point will miraculously ‘have what it takes’.

Agreed. But that will require a good Manager for that to be implemented.
