You think that's unusual?
It's very disrespectful to let a fellow manager take first team training while your at the same ground finalising your contract to replace him later on that day.

I guess we have different standards as to what is professional or not.

Most managers are sacked .
From the Championship to League 2 managers are usually sacked for not doing well or poached by other clubs for being successful .
Occupational hazard with a good payout particular in the Premier League .

Just a guess Arteta is possibly the longest serving manager in the League.
Think number one is Pep (if I remember correctly Arteta was his number one for a period at City?)
Arteta is probably pretty close behind though I think

Eh??
Nothing to do with my standards, it's just what goes on in football, clubs negotiating a contract & reaching an agreement before sacking the current manager happens all the time - we all know that.
That situation was cr@p & all on the West Ham ownership.

He was sat in the managers office while the current manager was taking first team training.

Given the abuse he got, if I were him, I'd have given it the full V's and bared my arse at us as well. Not his fault Messiah Jenkins is a twat. His performance against Arsenal the season we were relegated for a totally unexpected win should have been a main plank in leading to us staying up in the end.

Not that he was worth a quarter of what we paid, and everyone except Stoke knew it.
I blame that twãt Carvahal more. Pointless cliches and trying to draw us to safety

Something like that yes. As I said, he was one of the players that led for sod all. His non fire sale market value was way more than that. We’d paid £16m ish for him (which was, btw, ridiculous).
Classic Gonzo. "Let's sign him as he played well against us" was his transfer policy

Yes, wrong to do that by the West Ham owners, not something arranged by Potter.
Looking at the Hammers owners that's par for the course.
If you're looking at it morally then an incoming football manager shouldn't negotiate his position until the currently contracted manager is dismissed but it really happens all the time.
Old manager dismissed & the new one announced within a day or so because its already been arranged.
Whether the negotiations are taking place at the training ground or a nearby hotel, is there a difference? all fairly sh1tty.

Nothing to do with this but I started watching a podcast last night where Jonjo Shelvey was the guest. He stated talking about the time that he offered a Swans fan out after the Oxford game. It was quite amusing, but I fell asleep due to his extremely boring tone of voice. I will go back and listen to the rest.

So you logged on to say that your comment had nothing to do with this. And then that you heard something that was so boring that you fell asleep halfway through it. I must be missing something.

Yes, you’d think that the West Ham owners would interview candidates in the board room.
