• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Is Whittaker closing in on Plymouth Argyle return?

1m plus addons is fine with me provided that we put in a reasonable sell on fee (20% or so).
Just because a player doesn't work for our setup doesn't mean he won't thrive elsewhere (see Gyokeres) and can't earn a big money move later down the line

Why didn't we sell him in January?

Why didn't we sell him in January? Because it was felt he was needed in the squad in January, the board felt he should be playing a part in the squad, Martin thought otherwise, new manager comes in and may feel the £1m transfer fee allows us to bring in a better value replacement (I'd bet a replacement is announced soon, and we'll all be saying 'an upgrade on Whittaker, well done board, well done Duff')!

I'd say we've already signed his replacements with Yates and Ginelly.

The Americans and their games.

Officially done, no thanks or anything from us on the announcement article which is weird.

Not sure how you can congratulate the board. They have accepted an offer which is half the bid they rejected in January. Whittaker was happy at Plymouth and Martin was told by the board he was to be recalled. Martin was happy for Whittaker to stay at Plymouth. Their manager confirmed that. We should have either accepted the £2M from Rangers or let him stay at Plymouth until the end of the season where he having a great season. This would have increased his value. Instead Martin was left with an unhappy player who rarely played. This is poor management by the board and it has cost us financially.

Absolutely!

When we turned down the Rangers bid we had just lost Obafemi as well.
We have different people making the decisions now.
Still need a left back and a keeper as well.

Well we hope we do.
