I've heard

I asked chat gpt why would someone buy Swansea City FC. Im going for No 6 in th elist of answers it gave.
  • Potential for Turnaround: Investors might see potential for turning the club around with better management, improved player performance, or increased commercial revenue.
  • Valuable Assets: Swansea City has valuable assets such as its stadium, training facilities, and brand. These assets can be leveraged for future revenue.
  • Market Position: Swansea City has a strong fan base and a history of competing in higher leagues. This market position can be attractive for investors looking to build on the club's legacy.
  • Broadcast Deals: The recent improved broadcast deal for the EFL could provide additional revenue, making the club more financially viable in the long term.
  • Strategic Synergies: An investor might see synergies with their existing businesses or other sports ventures that could reduce costs or increase revenue.
  • Tax Benefits: Accumulated losses can be used to offset future taxable income, providing a financial incentive.
  • Long-term Investment: Some investors might be looking at the long-term potential and are willing to invest now to reap benefits in the future.

The problem with this is the club doesn't have all of those assets.....the stadium still belongs to the council, the training facilities at Fairwood are on University property so these can't be liquidised.

Doesn’t that make the acquisition of Montague the most brainless act imaginable?

“We can’t afford to sack williams so we’ll hire his old boss to definitely ensure we can’t afford to sack either of them”??
I doubt even Coleman would be that stupid.
As usual there are rumours and some folk think they are itk.

Can't believe Coleman would be so dull to over protect Williams..usually the Americans I've had dealings with in business are usually ruthless when it comes to contracts

I thought we bought the stadium when Pearlman was here? The change of use would scupper any ideas there anyway even then I guess. I'm no tax expert, but the loss offset against other income would be pretty complicated under two tax regimes I imagine and it's a tax saving so it's not a no cost strategy. I think they do want to make a success of it, it's just like Inspector Clouseau trying to make a success of policing.

Incompetent bumbling know it alls way out of their depth. American businessmen though of course so they must know it all. Just Boehly on a much smaller scale. Bluster, bluster, bluster, bumble, bumble, bumble.

And I'm not talking David Lloyd.

Yeah, snap. Often viciously and vindictively so. Makes what's going on even more weird. The only thing I can think is Coleman has presumably staked his own credibility on Williams.

What Peralman did was to negotiate the club taking over the management of the stadium previously done by Stadco...asa result the club is the sole leaseholder with a long lease but the City council retains the freehold and ultimate ownership

I know its crazy almost unbelievable Colemans own credibility will soon be completely lost if there is no immediate improvement on the pitch and he doesn't make a managerial change...but then who would he appoint?

Aye, as Lisa said, that's the sobering thing, but I think (as Peter Hammill might say) any change would be an improvement. The players so visibly have no faith and no intention of trying to dig him out of the hole. We can't change them before season end now, so we just have to change him. We need an interim.

Who is going to dig that someone out of a hole who criticises the players performance in defence, he who managed a side previuosly with another bad defensive record....who was employed to "sort it out!"

I think we did a 30 yr lease. This was the point of my original question. Why the fk would anyone buy us when there is no value in the club. Its a mystery.

When Nice to Michu posts.. it's he's the greatest itk posters on here, when it's me, it's like it's Skip, let's have a pop.. 200 terrorists are living in a f*cking hotel, because I know the head of CID and ex border force who categorically said to me.. the takeover, I saw the Americans WhatsApp messages about the takeover.. now the same source has stated that the ownership group have stated they can't afford to sack him.. that's come from a meeting indoors.. I've had my opinion on what might have happened and everyone thinks it's a bonai fde fact, when I haven't even stated it.. I'd rather listen to people who "know" than idiots like you on here

No offence meant Skippy....My reply was not dissing your info but my opinion on Dillwyns view...and in general about folks who think they are itk
You have proven inbthenpast to have your fingers on the pulse of what is actually going on around the club

I'm not itk, I'm just there mostly when stuff props up from time to time.. I don't get offended, it's just a word that's used to make you angry, because you've been taught it, and been brainwashed

The owners certainly can afford to sack him. They'd have to put some money in again (if the club itself is skint) and dilute the other shareholders again though.

Club took over the head lease from Stadco. Council still owns the stadium.

It was not the brightest move as some pointed out at the time…
