• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out. You can read more at the link below https://jackarmy.net/2026/04/22/jackarmy-net-twenty-five-years-and-out/

JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

JH would be a wonderful replacement for Phil, but does he want to do it or have the time to do it ?
Going on what I’ve read on here about what is involved it appears to take a lot of time and knowledge to run a site as brilliantly as Jackarmy.net has been since its inception.
I certainly hope that someone has enough knowledge and experience in this type of project and the passion to keep this site alive.
I would miss this site tremendously, which has kept me informed and entertained for many years and hope for a last minute reprieve to keep us all sane through the summer.
If it doesn’t happen then we’ll still be Swans fans and worry and get ecstatic in equal measure through the next season and many more to come (hopefully) but here’s hoping 🤞
Huge thanks to Phil, all mods and contributors.

ps Phil should be officially recognised as an off-field club legend along with the brilliant Kev Johns.
Thanks for your post. I’m happy to be a staff member if the site is taken on. I am here to assist, moderate and publish my match day threads. Anything to do with being a site owner or running a site would not be my aim at the moment. Not to say it might happen in the future, but at present we need someone to take on the technical side and ECB, Steve(?), myself are willing to marshal the site with Sheriff ECB and us as deputy’s. I’m guessing?

In an ideal world Phil would carry on with a slim down site. With it being just the Match Day Threads and the Football boards. Phil could take care of the technical side of the sites running and the rest of us could police the day to day running. So he wouldn’t be needed for any stories or news items. He would just control the IT aspects. Maybe get someone who is interested in maybe taking over the site in the future. Get like an apprentice to show them the ropes. The majority of us don’t have a clue what is involved in running this. Well I don’t. ECB is asking Phil to reconsider and it would be great, but it is ultimately down to Phil. He currently feels the time is right, but would a site which is slightly less time consuming work???

One football board (which would include the legendary match day threads) and one non footie board which I’d be happy to look after so no one else has to bother if they don’t want to. The non footie chat has always been as big a feature of the site as the footie chat. But I get not everyone’s interested in that. Two boards, all that’s needed.
