• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

More experienced than Byers, would appear to be more capable than Byers, likely to cost no more than Byers.

No problem.

Struggling to see why this has been met with negativity in some quarters. 26 goals, 21 assists in 150ish games is a decent return for someone who isn't a striker and certainly a better option than say Garrick (or Barrow when he was here) etc.

Feels like a decent signing

Hmm....Is this an Andy Scott signing or a Russell Martin signing?

Just so I can get this straight... Unless we sign someone, jamal Lowe will be our striker this season?

Agreed, someone who scores or assists one in every three is a very solid investment for a free transfer. It also fills a problem position of ours in the lack of a consistent and experienced playmaker in the no 10 position.

A smart signing in my eyes

Don't know anything about him but this signing screams numbers more than it does upgrade.

I think we're going to have busy treatment room this year and I'm not sure if we're see much of Walsh or this guy.

Seems a decent signing to add some depth & experience to the squad but I do find it odd that we're going for a third player released by a team we've finished comfortably above for the last 2 seasons.
This one makes more sense to me than Walsh though.

We thought the same with Korey Smith when he signed and he turned out ok. Let's hope for more of the same.

Maybe released due to his wages and Pearson playing a different style. Sounds more suited for us. Let's see who else comes in for a balanced view of where he fits(if he signs)

I'm sure he's decent, but there's no reason to believe he's better than what we have or what we're letting walk out of the door. Korey Smith is decent, but for a player like him to flourish he needs to play every game - the role in midfield demands it, and unfortunately he's not quite good enough to be that guy, and so we never have a truly well functioning midfield. Grimes and Smith are not Allen and Britton, or even Fer and Grimes unfortunately.

From what I can tell, people may need to start getting used to the idea of not having an out and out striker, but by design this time.

Which is fine. A mobile, fluid forward line rather than one rigidly deployed could be fun and effective.
