• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Don't know anything about him but this signing screams numbers more than it does upgrade.

I think we're going to have busy treatment room this year and I'm not sure if we're see much of Walsh or this guy.

This is my main gripe.

I understand the financial constraints, but continually going after the players who can't stay fit is a recipe for disaster. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't haven't having any doubts at all about Scott aswell, this year is huge for him.

Just so I can get this straight... Unless we sign someone, jamal Lowe will be our striker this season?

From what I can tell, people may need to start getting used to the idea of not having an out and out striker, but by design this time.

Which is fine. A mobile, fluid forward line rather than one rigidly deployed could be fun and effective.

A bit like we had with Laudrup's first season, with Michu not being an out and out striker either. I'm not expecting performances like the West Brom game from this team, but the idea of a manager who wants a mobile and fluid forward line certainly does sound good in theory.

I agree about the 'striker' idea. Maybe Routs can even write another chapter in a more progressive team. We need people that know where the net is mind you. I'm expecting more consistency from Lowe this year.

Not an upgrade compared to who exactly in our current squad?
Yan is the poster boy for inconsistent and we employed Lowe as a striker more than as any creative force last season.

Lets be completely honest here, Paterson is far and away the most creative player we have in a squad which has been systematically dismantled from a creative standpoint for the last two years.

Exactly, hes an incredibly experienced Championship player who a number of clubs were coveting, Boro, Forest, Bristol, Coventry

I must say hearing a player say hes joined because of the philosophy is music to my ears, I cant remember the last time a players said that when signing, this season feels like back to the old and exciting times

I’m not writing him off and not pretending to know much about him but come on - he’s not a free transfer, he’s a free agent, cut lose by a bang average club and failed to win a contract where he has spent the last few weeks training and playing. I wish him every success and he’ll have my full support but let’s not start pretending that we would have pursued him if he hadn’t have been an unattached freebie. He’s here to add numbers. …. and I get what fans like to hear, I like to hear it to, and I’d also be saying it if I was him.
