Joe Allen

We need to get this over the line. Joe could still play in the Premier League and will be a revelation here. People don’t want to admit how good he is because he has spent so long at Stoke.

If he was that good a Premier League team would've come in for him in the last few years. Stoke fans don't think he's done much for them in the last couple of years.

Joe has been at Stoke far too long and has become stale there in a system that was never a good fit for his skillset. His performances for Wales when he's got better players around him in a system that suits him shows that he can still perform at a decent level and where better to get the new motivation he needs than your boyhood club?

Heard that he's agreed terms with us.

Hope it's true, problem is who is getting sold?

Downes

I wouldn’t be gutted with that though I’ll be honest. As good as Flynn is, if we can get between 8-10 mill for him and replace him with Allen and have funds to strengthen other areas of the team, that’s good business in my eyes.

It’s on social media that he’s agreed terms, anyone could have put that up.

Shame he’s coming back 6 years too late.

Indeed and another legacy of certain people being distracted 6 years ago too

I think it could be a useful signing... you know he will give 110 % so the glove fits for us as a mid table Championship side. He will be looking to get fit and playing at his best for the club he supports in time for the WC. The concern now is we don't sell the other two assets if we do we will start repeating the Cooper saga of not been backed by the owners.

This in buckets.
The 'process ' as Russ states it is will be under massive scrutiny and people won't put up with shyte rhetoric with the funds he has to build 'his team's if things go tits up.

To be fair mind he won't get anywhere near what we sold downes for back to strengthen the squad.

2 most baffling Stoke signings - Allen and Bojan. The latter was a sub for Messi at Camp Nou until he was farmed out on loan to Serie A where he lost all confidence. Would have loved to have seen him replace Joe when he left the Swans.

You can't help but feel Joe has wasted his career staying at Stoke for this long. It was never a good move for him, and deciding to stay there after relegation was a huge mistake when offers would have been forthcoming from the bottom half of the Premier League. Did OK in his first season there, but his effectiveness reduced as the calibre of team mate deteriorated upon their relegation.

Unfortunate to be in one of those positions where fans who know fack all about football don't notice your contribution. Unsurprisingly, Stoke has a higher than average propensity of knuckleheads who struggle to decipher between their arses and their elbows when it comes to football or anything else for that matter.

Let's hope he can salvage something from his club career when he comes home and try to emulate the success of his international career. I'm confident he will flourish here where he had become stale at Stoke.
