• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

If he wants better results from the DVLA maybe he should stop personally intervening in industrial disputes just so he can keep them going.

It's not really a hot take though is it? Many people are suffering from the inadequacies of the dvla. It's just not good enough, and that's putting it politely.

The backlog is caused by a strike. Workers are on strike because conditions during the pandemic were so loose someone died after an outbreak at the DVLA. The Union and the department for transport agreed resolutions to the strike twice. Both resolutions were torpedoed by the Minister Grant Shapps out of political spite. That’s the same Grant Shapps who blamed hauliers for shortages and has caused panic buying.

Instead of blaming the people who work and live in the same city as us, why aren’t we asking more of the people who took the political decisions that have left us in this mess?

Another hot take.

If you don’t like it get back to work.

Hearing first hand that the DVLA are contacting ex HGV drivers, if they want to renew, any truth there.🤔

Paramedics who used to be on the roads but are now in emergency call centres are being contacted to see if they want to drive as well. £28 an hour

A Bont based Facebook pal of mine has received a letter from the Dept of Transport signed by a Baroness Vere of Norbiton, Minister for Transport, buses and places, asking him to consider getting behind the wheel again...
