• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Appointing Sheehan was the correct decision, and the management would have been savaged by us if they hadn't done it. Sheehan would have kept us up but no more than that, so we made a change. Good luck to all three managers.
Sheehan would have kept us up? Big call that Gwyn 🤔

Incidentallly Wolves are apparently looking at other mangerial options once again. Was it worth leaving a great chance of promotion for 7 defeats and a draw.?

Former Wolves captain and lives in Telford suppose made sense to him, plus like above said massive money maker for him either way.

I mean it depends on his career aspirations

Wolves probably offered him at least twice or triple his pay at Boro, even if he does shit and gets the sack after a couple of months (which wouldn't surprise me) his pay off on his 3.5 year contract will still be the equivalent of about ten year's worth of the salary he was on at Boro.

Put his feet up, do some pundit gigs until the summer and plenty of clubs with ambitions would see what he did with Boro and think he could do a job for them as well.

It's bloody good work if you can get it. Ask Sheehan and countless other managers that have been paid up a 3 year contract for doing less than a third of that.
And you don’t even have to be a good manager to get a good job. The footballing world love to employ naff managers. Some even get employed because they were amazing players. The likes of Wayne Rooney who would never have been employed by Plymouth after the shit show he produced with Birmingham City, but was employed on his exploits on the pitch and his star appeal. Russell Martin has the gift of the gab and brainwashes weak minded people into thinking he is some sort of managerial guru when in fact he is a complete charlatan.

One article reporting that Bryan Barry Murphy is in the frame for the job, Tbf he’s doing ok at Cardiff but League 1 to the PL is a huge step up. Wolves don’t look a good proposition for an up and coming manager unless they are given a massive budget and time.

We need a manager with experience, the only manager with relevant managerial experience we appointed was Potter, and that was probably our best season since we've been in this division
You sure? What about the two seasons following Potter when we had two top 6 finishes and a play off final?
We finished 10th under Potter
