• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

For ‘winter’ sun, which is better? Any recommendations?

Weather wise, generally the same, I've heard about Lanzarotes's windiness. Went to Tenerife last winter 25C at the beginning of December. Heading to Lanzarote this November for 11 days.

Cyprus won't be on the same level of temperature, much cooler than the Canaries Nov-Jan.

No not bothered by beaches.

Or I could throw Cyprus into the mix as well.
Not been to Cyprus.

We liked Lanzarote more over Tenerife, it was less built up. Had a lovely holiday in Costa Teguise.

I’m hearing and seeing it mentioned in this thread, about the wind. How bad / windy is it?

Tenerife for me. San Juan or Puerto de Santiago away from the herds. Bar on the hill before you get into Santiago used to be run by a Spurs fan. Ok - admit to having a negative experience with Lanzarote. My daughter was in the entertainment team at a resort - first evening she broke a bone in her foot during a dance routine. Spent the following 10 days getting to know the Spanish health system. Rambling now but to cut a long story short Tenerife and north west corner if you’re not too bothered about sun and heat.

Been to Tenerife, was nice enough but I wouldn’t rush back. I fancy somewhere different maybe Marrakesh next time I’m looking for some winter sun.

Of the two, Tenerife, albeit prefer Gran Canaria if its a choice of Canary Island destinations.

For me, best winter sun in Europe is Cyprus (Alexander the Great in Paphos) or, dare I say, the south eastern corner of Majorca which is quite sophisticated.

Gran Canaria is the place to relax apparently we went there before my lads were born stayed at Puerto Rico it was ok, but its improved massively now apparently, Puerto Mogan next bay over is a must visit its beauty is outstanding.
