• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Players don't just have one choice though, would you be edging yourself towards a club whose in freefall form and a manager who couldn't wait to tout himself out for a few extra quid.
Just look at the lad from Man City who went to Norwich at the last minute despite spending all day on the Sunday in Swansea.

Genuine question as I can’t even remember his name, how’s he got on there? A regular starter, scoring, assisting?

Jacob Wright

In and out of the team with no goals or assists.
Interesting to keep an eye on him given we had agreed a fee upto 5M to turn it permanent if we stayed in the league.

O Brien great player. But his salary's unsustainable, applaud the board realising how in the shit we were but this last minute shelling out on players we can't afford shouldn't be something that is repeated.

yes a good player but in all honesty these are the type of guys that are needed to mount a challenge for promotion and they will not be cheap,
the next window will hopefully show which way this new board of billionares want to go

We still shouldn't expect miracles here.

The club will still be operating at a loss and I am sure a financial expert could give a better answer than me but our losses from the recent announcement on the OS was roughly 15m and that included 10m of player sales and 6m of player purchases/registrations.

Last year our financial losses were slightly higher (but more or less similar) - meaning we would still need to see roughly a 4m profit on player sales or a similar upturn financially from elsewhere.

I'd be a lot happier investing in wages for someone like O'Brien who is clearly at the level worth the investment, will play for the team and get them going, rather than someone like Pedersen, who has quite frankly stolen a wage from us for the last two years (or however long he's been here).

Their personal wealth is somewhat irrelevant.

The club can only spend within the rules. Which is why I'd like more information on what they're actually bringing to the table to try and make the club successful as investing their money heavily isn't an option.

What exactly would you like them to bring?

Releasing Perdersen and Fulton as two examples could cover the wage of someone like O'Brien.

A vision and communicate that. Big investment in non PSR things like the academy for a start?
Better communication of their strategy would help massively along a bigger emphasis on the academy. I'd love our next manager to give more of our youngsters a chance to prove themselves.

In terms of the investment, they seem to be putting money in to the club. The issue is they've wasted it up until now.
