Lowe and Ayew

Shocking wasn't it. He got himself in a lovely position later on too and curled it wide of the post. From pretty much exactly the same position Dan James buried one in the top corner. That's the difference. Narrow margins though.

That was very unlucky and a fine effort. A foot or so to the left and we'd have all been creaming ourselves and it would have done him the world of good. He'll have another streak at some point. I'd keep him in the team 100%.

Ayew...I was a bit shocked at the number of times I shouted 'oh just f**k off' at the telly. He was garbage...again. Even the dog was growling when he got the ball be the end.

Drop him FFS Cooper. You can always bring him on after 65 mins.

He got the ball? When?

spot on mon. Lowe offers us seomething whereas ayew just doesnt. I think Lowe would also benefit in playing with a no.9 in whittaker too

It's the championship, and this is the standard. They both need a rest, and also (in Ayew's case especially) need to understand it's a squad effort, and they need to earn their place. Will pay dividends in the end.

Good players, could do better, story of our lives. Whittaker will get his chance but that is Steve's decision, along with Arriola, they both need to be eased in. Period.

Ayew seems to be trying to make something happen by himself most of the time, which is mostly fine as it draws in a few defenders, but he seems to have stopped making chances for himself and others.

Lowe is hard working and has some decent skills for a winger, but is never going to be a 20+ goals a season man; he just doesn't have the consistent touch or instinct for goal.

But I think we have as many problems in midfield. Grimes is being asked to do a lot of work in both defence and attack (i.e., trying to find the killer ball) with Hourihane alongside him. Hourihane is a fantastic dead ball specialist but can see why he doesn't make the Villa team with the rest of his game. I think Fulton gives us great energy and is surprisingly good in attack, coming up with good touches and a few goals.

Cooper needs to work out what the best combinations are in midfield and attack very quickly if we're going to sustain a promotion challenge.

I've often defended Ayew because even when he seems anonymous, he'll pop up with a vital goal or assist. However, it's just not happening at the moment and he looks like he needs a rocket up his arse.

We all know he's only here because no-one else will pay him £80k a week, but he's always been professional about it and has looked like he really cares about winning. Hopefully a spell on the bench will motivate him.

Personally, I blame myself. I suggested he'd be worth a 1-year contract if we got promoted a few weeks back and look at his form since...

Lowe was dreadful then great now dreadful. Time for great again Jamal. Be Jamazing.

Ayew barely looks like a footballer at the moment... he just looks like an old man aimlessly walking around the pitch.

I long for the days when he used to get the ball and try and do it all on his own... I can’t remember him getting the ball yesterday and doing anything.

My only memory is him slapping the ground in frustration several times.
