• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Who in our ownership isn't going to listen to Modric on football matters..

Plus he will have an influence on a network of players...probably young uns from Croatia

To those who complained about the Au Vodka contract and that the club gets nothing out of it - yes it does.

I think this is all part a of brand shift that was clearly needed after relegation. Martin I think was supposed to be part of it, right image, good manner, good hair, but he couldn't win games. Williams was a desperate retry of that strategy but an all round fail.

Sheehan could be, he's got got good presence in pressers and on screen, although he'll have to clean up the potty mouth and learn to be slick - but he'll have to do that anyway if he becomes the boss. Being slick is just a skill, easily learned by an intelligent person.

The lack of depth in the club's image was horribly clear at the open top bus celebration for the Carabao cup win. It was a disaster.
Miserable tw@t .

You are, unsurprisingly, conflating two things.

The AU links are from the old owners. (It’s been in place for quite a while now), Same as the stadium naming rights. The ones that as I said, I worry would take any money rather than no money even if selling the club short. And, again, as I said, we don’t know what money changes hands, only that it’s not very much (remember that the accounts are out) and it may be that it’s not great value. No idea.

This link with Modric comes from the new owners who, I believe, have a completely different mentality. I suspect they’ll be looking at a lot of things in the commercial side and how to improve them.

Try to keep up. Even with this username…

Can you imagine being a Cardiff fan now?

Falling through the leagues whilst Modric becomes the owner of your biggest rivals.

What a time to be alive 🤣
But but but but we are the Capital.
We'll have Luka Modric
They'll just Luk fvkn stupid.

This is a bizarre piece of news.

Nice to rekindle the Croatian link with the club after so many years!

Will be a big boost for us commercially. I hope that the ‘investment’ Modric is making is not only money but also his name / time / image rights. I suspect it will be and if so, it’s worth far more to us than a couple of million.

Interesting times. On the face of it, a really positive move by the owners and they should be hugely congratulated.

Let's hope we can benefit from this opportunity fully.
On the commercial side and also hope that.his name alone gives us a step up against others in transfer dealings.

Aye on the face of it it is.

It’s a basic ‘sweat equity’ deal I suspect. He gets a percentage of the club in return for his time and name. There may be a small amount of money involved but it will be minimal if anything.
Image rights, him promoting the club, could even have agreed he spends a bit of time in the training ground.

What is impressive though is that he is such a big name it’s not easy to attract these people as they have offers from everywhere.

I really can't see any downside to this and potentially plenty of upside. It should certainly help with recruitment, especially from Croatia.

You mention the Croation link was Rajkovic (Spelling) one of them?

Surprised nothing on our official site and other SM outlets on this.
