• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Imagine - just for a minute, that his contract actually finishes at Madrid and he starts focussing on life but registers as a Swansea player just so the Fans could buy a Swans shirt with Modric on the back. That would be funny.
Personally, I have no idea what his investment is but the amount he has bought in to will give a better idea of his commitment.
I’d rather a Swans shirt with Modric on the back was on the back of Modric.

Of course he's not a manager , but similarities between Modric and Laudrup are up there almost spooky.
We all know what happened when the latter arrived.
Jesus wept, this could be a ride and a half looming.

Is he really going to add much though? Surely he won't be able to dictate signings etc

Who knows, maybe not. But the fact we've secured him tells me there could be bit more to this.

Jimmy and Ante are both Bosnian.
lol. In which case my memory is obviously crap!

I do remember them playing though. Will never forget Jimmy playing in a pre season game against Spurs when I thought he was as good as anything I’d ever seen and will also never forget Ante hacking that Cardiff player, getting sent off, and us winning the cup as a result.

The question to ask has to be why? I mean, why would he do it, in the sense of what’s in it for him, that he couldn’t get in a similar way elsewhere. Is it just a low risk punt on a potential PL payout? If so there must be more likely candidates that would play ball, I mean, has he seen Ronald play?

Could we have a new player manager for next season…😉

It’s for his global commercial outreach. His name should garner us a lot of commercial opportunities worldwide that do not exist at the moment.

Does now make the potential of games v Wrexham a potential media cum fest.

Ronald been decent lately mon!

I thought I had warped back to April 1st when this first broke this morning

Certainly does the global brand of the club no harm, though it would surely mean he has no realistic ambitions of coaching or management after he retires. Unlikely though it may be that a club he manages faces a club he has a minority ownership stake in I cannot see how that would not be looked at as a conflict of interest

Admittedly though I cannot think of any precedent for it ever happening
