It isn’t just him though - how can he justify the treatment of Whittaker, Joseph, Fulton, Bidwell, Bennet, Garrick, Cullen, Ogbeta, to an extent Congrieve and Lloyd, Benda, Dhanda, etc - you could pick a team from players discarded by Russ who have, or have the potential to, keep us all the top end of the championship for several seasons. Now I’m not saying they’re the answer but look where we are now - could it be any worse to use some of these players that are still on the books, or are you they all going to be replaced by expensive lower half league one players?
Surely I can’t be alone in thinking like this? What is Winter and the hierarchy thinking?
