• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I think it would help, you need a certain level of quality to play the way he does. Having said that, some argue that he still underperformed with Southampton and their squad was worth much more than anything we’d be able to offer even now. I haven’t taken a look back at that Southampton squad but I do remember that season being particularly competitive at the top. 21 games unbeaten is a decent achievement in any league to be fair to him.

The last 10 games or so of his second season we were much better and it’s arguably the best we’ve played over that amount of games since being relegated.

I still wouldn’t reappoint him, I think it’s too risky given where we are and I don’t think we suit his style at the moment.
People will just skip over your second paragraph…very true mind.

If it did happen mind…one gushing interview and all the melts on here would be getting out the hair tonic and brushes🤣

I think the job he did at the end of that season does go under the radar a bit. After the shocking January we had with no players signing and that press conference where he went against the board, the fact he almost managed play offs is impressive.

The caveat to all of that though, is that he changed his formation and stopped playing in quite the same way as he had for all the rest of his time here to achieve it. If he came back and played it that way, I think he could win people round. It’s about whether he would or not though.

I’ll tell you one thing…I don’t get to as many games as I used to ( every home and many away) due to my hectic schedule, commuting back and forth to Rio isn’t as glamorous as it sounds, but one thing I never did was threaten to never go back to Vetch or the Liberty as a result of a managerial appointment or a group of players.
I wouldn't go if he comes back been watching us for 50 years now.

But if I wanted to be that bored I would watch all the Harry Potter films.

Bollocks to that I am not paying to watch that boring shite.

Don’t you mean to the point where you switched off the tv.
That’s rich coming from someone who just admitted he doesn’t go often himself. Perhaps that’s why you have some notion of him being Pep Guardiola rather than the Kevin Cullis type we witnessed during his reign.

People seem to have forgotten that we were in a legal battle over him leaving for well over a year or two.

If we hired him again after that we need our heads examined. I’d hope we showed a lot more self respect than having him anywhere near us whatever his public pleadings now he’s in a mess. And that’s not to mention his shitty remarks about us in one of his first press conferences with Southampton.

Plus, he really is an absolutely dreadful manager.

Ignore him, he's only on here to wind other posters up.
