• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Matt Grimes, Captain of Coventry City.

Grimes was given a dogs life on here and elsewhere, basically being blamed for everything that went wrong. He's at a club now who values him
By the way, the answer to the question "who's laughing now"? Answer: Mathew Grimes. šŸ‘
He was never the problem. I’m not sure why people couldn’t see that. All this rubbish about him only going sideways and backwards wasn’t supported by the stats (or human eyes). The full season before he left us he was in the top 4% of midfielders for forward passes, for example. Last season top 2% and this season top 3% (https://fbref.com/en/players/81a487b9/scout/12751/Matt-Grimes-Scouting-Report).

The problem was always the dross ahead oh him.

Last night was a perfect example of why hes missed. How often when we were pinned in previously he was the out ball and could make a little movement to turn defence into attack. I lost track at how many throws in we conceded or gave away due to the lack of outball. Galbraith could be that man if playing as the anchor but as hes not then we will continue to struggle to do the simple stuff.

If he was so good at turning defence into attack, explain his virtually non-existent goals and assists record during the best part of 10 years at the club.

Grimes may not have worked out here but he is a good player.

Grimes is flourishing at Coventry, he’s led the to the top of the table, he’s had a few M.0.M’s and the Coventry fans generally rave about his performances. Maybe what we saw here was the result of instructions from his managers, the style RM wanted to play or the fact that his team mates here weren't doing what his new team mates in Coventry are doing.

Last night was poor, there were very limited options upfront and it ended up being played around the back aimlessly.

Coventry have spent over 40 million on their 3 strikers, Sakamoto, Torp and Grimes, Lampard is also on a whack.. no surprise Grimes surrounded by players who are better and a manager who knows how to use him, instead of safety first merchants Williams and Martin

The twps who don't get Matty, shouldn't post on Swans footy forums

It's beyond embarrassing how many of our online armchairs are so facking clueless about football

You've clearly played the game at a decent level, one of the very few here, bravo

Excelled at England youth as a proper talented Hoddle-esque prospect, totally aligned and immersed into our playing brand, proper leader on and off the grass

The gaping chasm is massive - leadership at our fulcrum, heads-up tekkers, our corporate glue
