Honestly, I hate finding myself in the position of defending these owners, but haven't we established many times over that the owners are not 'bleeding the club dry'?

The accounts are released every year as normal and people who know how they work look at them in detail, there's been no evidence of any naughtiness.

They don't want to know it unfortunately. Their entire reality is based around easily disprovable nonsense. Think of them like anti-Vaxxers. The more you point out that they're wrong with plenty of evidence to show it, the harder they double down. Add that to your average football fan's tendency to believe that the only outgoings clubs have are what they spend on players and it's a perfect storm of denial.

You can believe the owners have done a pretty poor job overall without making stuff up as well. More people need to try it.
