• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The club and Martin handled him appallingly last season. Should have left him at Plymouth all season and increased his value if they weren't going to play him after recalling him.

He was here for almost a month after Duff was appointed, so maybe Duff didn't rate him either, but I wouldn't be surprised if Whittaker made it clear to the club that he wanted out no matter what Duff thought of him.

That's exactly what happened, Duff talked about it in an interview.

Thanks for the reminder, must have heard that and totally forgot about it.

I could understand the club recalling him if there was an intent to make use of him from the management who had expressed the desire to bring him back or if there had been a change in management to prompt such a change of thinking.

Instead the club tried to cash in on him mid season, it backfired and RM's appalling man management skills basically meant that MD was never going to have a chance of getting any tune out of Whittaker outside of "Bye bye bye"
