It doesn't say, but the Seattle fans rate him at around 7-10M

So Swanjaxs is right then. Worth about a tenner.

st.lopez said:Umm, Sounders fan here, and I guess a Swansea Fan if Morris deal is done. I'm seeing a lot of info on Morris here that is wildly inaccurate, so I thought I'd offer a take based on watching every game he's ever played for Sounders.
1. He is fast...faster than most and fast enough to get past most defenders.
2. He's unusually strong and hard to knock off the ball for someone so fast. This to me, is his distinguishing characteristic. There are other fast players around, but almost none with his combination of speed and power. Watch him collide with defenders--they often bounce off of him and he just keeps going.
3. He is definitely not a 10. As in, absolutely no way. He's either a winger (preferably left, but can also play right) or a striker. He's best running on to a through ball or taking a defender on in space (with speed, not guile). He will not be spraying passes around. His first touch is only ok. He's gotten quite good at crossing the ball, and his right footed shot is a rocket. If Championship defenders underestimate his speed/strength tho, they will spend a lot of time looking at back of his shirt.
4. He's darn near unstoppable in MLS WHEN his head is on straight. When he first came to Sounders he always deferred to Clint Dempsey, even when he'd beaten his defender and had a clear path to goal. He's definitely more confident now, and when he's confident, I think he can be effective in any league. But he's Seattle through and through and it will be interesting to see if he can conjure up that confidence or if he's going to be deferring to others too much. To me, this is where he'll succeed or fail. If he's feeling confident and that he has the trust of the club, he's going to help you all...a lot.
5. He's often criticized for staying the comfortable route--Sounders are his hometown club, his dad works for the club, passed up Bundesliga transfer 4 years ago and some think he could be closer to where Pulisic is had he gone then. I don't agree with that--he mentally wasn't ready when he was 22-- He's kind of a product of the old, flawed American development path in that he went to college first--so he's maybe 3 years behind the developmental pace of a kid reared in an academy. That said, he's managed to improve something in his game every year, and i don't think he's done developing--he's so so much better than when the Bundesliga offer came. Honestly, if he were 22 with his current game, he'd be more like a $15-20 million transfer-you can't teach his speed/power combo.
I've watched a lot of Championship (like a lot of Americans, I watch a lot of Fulhamerica, and most of the games are televised on ESPN+ over here) and the level is, quite frankly, similar enough to MLS that I think he'll be fine IF he comes in guns blazing. MLS top end talent (first 3-5 guys on each roster)is actually probably higher than the Championship. Spots 6-18 on the roster definitely are better in the Championship, which is thus overall a better league. Defending is also definitely better in the Championship--blame both on the MLS wacky salary cap rules. Honestly, Morris would have gone before this but his value to the Sounders is much higher than his transfer valuation with Euro clubs, because of those aforementioned wacky salary rules. Can he play in the top European leagues? I think he can, but I don't know if he's worth the investment to those teams given that his age dimishes his sell on value. If he does well, i'm intrigued to see what happens, because American players are doing really well at big clubs now (Dortmund, Juventus, Chelsea, Leipzig, Barca) and Morris has been a key player on our national team for a couple of years now. Have no idea what his valuation might be then....
I'm rooting for him, as are all Sounders fans. I think he'll surprise folks if he's used right and the coach trusts him. Lack of confidence is the think most likely to derail him. I will not be surprised if he makes a big mark on the Championship, and I also won't be surprised if it doesn't work out and he's back in Seattle after this loan...
