• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Shaking Stevens in the surf bar Llangennith early 80's, he used to play there every other Saturday night in the summer before he became famous 😁

The Queen.
Her cars overtook me on between Windsor and London and I saw her clearly and waved. She didn't wave back.

Charlie Boy, Jonah Lomu, and a couple of guys from The Drifters ( no idea of their names as we were out on the lash) - not at the same time though.

Benny from Crossroads, a regular at The Stone pub in Northfield, Birmingham where I used to work. Ca 1980

Sold a fax machine to Liz Hurley when I used to work in BT Shop Bath in early to mid 90s, and still got her signature to Start her home phone line when she was shacking up with Hugh Grant near Bath...

Also Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson from Rush, Birmingham Odeon also about 1980

Was an extra for 2012 film One Chance ( bout Paul Potts)...despite us all being told to keep away from the stars, had selfies/chats with Colm Meeny, James Corden McKenzie Crook and Julie Walters. Had several ticking offs but couldn't pass that up.
Found all of em really nice people.

By strange coincidence this was three years ago today.

John Taylor of Duran Duran , Lily Allen .

In a roundabout way Neil diamond.

Was working with the band Midlake in europe andwhen we were in Paris the tour manager was talking to this guy who turned out to be Diamonds manager. We jokingly said "get him on the phone" which he did and we all said hello to him in turn.

Other than that I very briefly met Rick Gervais when he turned up to see Midlake at the Roundhouse in Camden in 2010. I was giving out passes to certain guest list members. When he came in I offered him his pass but he said "awfully kind but I just want to see the show and fuck off" :)
