I think the " we have a young team" tag for poor performances won't wash next season.

It didn’t wash this season.

Arsenal have the youngest team in the Premier League.

Yeah, difference is our young players didn't cost us over £30m per head.

Poor performances I agree, but results, depending on the resources Russ has available, will.

There was a huge cut going into last season, and as stated by Julian Winter, (who runs the club and doesn't judge seasons on how easy it is on Football Manager and Fifa) it's a bottom third budget.

Bottom third budget, finishing three points above play offs. Solid season.

Except it's not a bottom third budget and we could quite easily have made the playoffs this season with the squad we have if we hadn't spent five months twatting around trying to make Russy's "process" work.

This season has been a massive missed opportunity.

Julian Winter lying through his teeth then. Which of course, he isn't, no need to.

He should have gone to four earlier, no doubt about it for me, but everything else we are seeing, is "russy's process"

That's not the point I was making. Martin constantly used the youth of the team to excuse performance. Arsenal are competing at a very different level but they have had a magnificent season despite being the least experienced team in the PL whatever they cost.

Not the fairest comparison really. Arteta is in his 4th season at Arsenal and it’s taken this long to really click.

At this stage in the process he has been allowed to add Jesus, Zinchenko, Jorghino (all major title winners) to allow them to push on.

At the same time we have had to get rid of all our big earners and experience.

They haven’t been looking at the likes of Sorrinola, OKO-Flex, Stevens etc to push us on.

Incomparable

If we haven't got £30m players we shouldn't be trying to play like we have then. ie tip tap tapety tap at the back!!

Agree a massive missed opportunity this season, should have been in the playoffs!!

Every other club will be thinking the same regarding play offs.

We are trying to be different from the rest as we can’t compete when we don’t, Martinez started us off last time we had success and hopefully Martin is starting a second period.

Arteta was also a young,
,inexperienced manager. There are some comparisons. Give Martin a sizeable budget and he could probably hum a consistent tune.

If that youth team is as good as they look on screen the city may benefit from another young team with a sprinkling of seasoned hombres.

He comes across as being tactically naïve with a desire to show who’s boss. Can’t really warm to him to be honest but my judgment will be pretty subjective and flawed. No idea what goes on in training for example.

I've a feeling people are forgetting what happened mid season. The same players that looked un beatable last 10 games are the same that couldn't win an argument then.
What part of all that isn't the manager's doing?
I'd love him to succeed, but he falls short for me.
And don't compare us to Arsenal FFS.

Some of the dullest comments I’ve ever read , some of you should read them back, your desire to be proven right about Martin and your reluctance to acknowledge that we have moved forward are making you look pretty stupid.

Can’t think of any other group of fans who would be debating whether or not the manager should still be at their club after the finish we had.

Articles saying that Southampton are hovering around RM as well as Leicester now.

How have we moved forward? The previous 2 campaigns we were in the play offs. Now we are a mid table side with a team that should have strolled into the top 6. Not gonna argue cos all about opinions but they are the facts.
