• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Only 1 of our previous managers have lasted more than 2 years since Martinez. (Cooper). And only 3 of them since Hollins. (Cooper, Martinez and Jacket).
I hope the next manager only gets a 2 year contract with options to extend based on performance.
Can we afford to give managers more than 2 years?

Cooper was only here 2 years then chose to put himself out of work rather than stay.

There is a massive difference between negotiations with your target dragging on a bit, and not knowing who you want.
And what evidence is there that the club haven't already settled on a target and are negotiating?

Not saying the opposite is true either, but this is a blanket statement with absolutely nothing behind it except for an understandable ongoing frustration with the club and the owners.

The evidence is we're run by fuckwits.

There is also a CEO at the club now. Montague at the very least has experience in running a football club and how football and negotiations work. If nothing had changed internally I would agree with you but we shall see in the coming weeks

I said this on a previous thread - I give RM 18 months.

As we saw with that announcement the other day about the boardroom and backroom revamp, there are too many cooks, he will eventually tire of working in a role where too many others have their mitts involved.

I'll be happy to be proved wrong on that, but imo all the evidence we've seen in the past with DoFs/Sporting Directors says that is what will likely happen.

Might have a bit more about it later.

I won't be at the game today so relying on some messages about things.

Before anyone has a go for me not going, I got freebies for the Wales/Ireland game today 😁
You must be a real glutton for punishment 😂

Sheezys barmy army
I'm less inclined to immediately dismiss this idea than I was last time he was in charge. I think the pool of available managers out there we can choose from get's sh*tter and sh*tter each time given where the club is; do we really want to spend weeks chasing the next Williams (and paying compo for the privilege?). If the players do respect Sheehan and he can get them playing like that on a regular basis, why the f*ck not?

It's only one game though. We could get smashed 5-0 next time out and all the goodwill disappears. I think he might have bought himself a chance to show what he can do for a few more games after today though.

He'll do ok, it's hard for them to play any worse.

Sheehan isn't the answer long term.

Nobody will be chasing the next Williams, ffs. Poor post.

We have new owners, with a purpose……
