• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

That’s very true. I hardly ever watch the Saturday night show. Sunday morning is more my thing with a butty and a cuppa.

That makes more sense.

Anyhow, when Paul Merson still makes a living from talking about the game despite being a complete Moron I can't imagine that Kelly Cates represents anything other than a big improvement.

It's cracking choice.

It puzzles me when grown men get so wound up that a women gets a job to talk about football.

Never had a problem with female presenters on football. They're usually as good as, if not better, than the men, because they tend to play it a bit straighter and avoid straying into banter territory.

Female ex-player pundits punditing on mens football? Male ex-player pundits punditing on women's football? Not so keen. For me it's false equivalence. In both scenarios, they don't really know what they're talking about because they haven't got the same lived experience. I just think it's all a bit forced, a bit daft.

But I think Cates, Logan, Woods, Hipgrave etc - all brilliant presenters, really good at what they do.

I can't watch results show on Sky during the 3pm kick off's on a Saturday. The pundits on there are awful.
Couldn't agree more. It's borderline unwatchable these days. Sherwood in particular, just the worst.

I get people waiting up to watch MOTD before t'internet, but when all the Prem goals are available for free about an hour after the game on the Sky website anyway I'm kinda surprised that people still do, no matter who presents it.
Waiting up? It’s on at 10.30pm mun it’s not like you’d have to delay your Horlicks.

I’ve got better things to do on a Saturday night than watch MOTD. Sunday morning is a different story.
Yeah but you said you don’t watch the Saturday show but you do. You just watch it on a Sunday.

Out of interest, what are these “better things” that you’re doing in your glamorous life at 10.30 on a Saturday night? More often than not you’re on here talking shit with the rest of us. :ROFLMAO:

The downside of having an internal clock that wakes me up for work whether or not it's the weekend is a bedtime well in advance of 10:30.

I’ve got absolutely no problem with women presenters. Much better than the male presenters who’ve been mentioned on this thread. When it comes to women commentators I’m afraid I have to admit to being a 🦖

I never said it was a choice driven by content, it’s very much about timing.

If I was to knock up a quick list of ten things to do on a Saturday night which is more interesting than MOTD, chatting shit with my PS chums would be on there 😂

Why?
