Who would you like to see sign for us.. I'm probably a bit far fetched with this, but I'd like to see Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon, but with the Americans at the helm it's possibly a 1% chance, because we need defenders it's clear.. everyone keeps banging the Joe Allen drum, but when he plays for Wales he's usually blowing out of his arse 65 minutes onwards

We need to strengthen at the back for sure. I’d say we need a new keeper to compete with Fisher, at least 2-3 centre backs and a right wing back which I’m assuming will be Cyrus. Joe Allen along with Grimes, Downes and probably another centre midfielder gives us good strength in depth in midfield, plus Walsh to come back in as well. If we keep Piroe, Oba and Patterson, I don’t think we need to strengthen the front line too much.

Yeah, but we are transparently not doing that are we.

No we’re not, that would be in an idea world (in my opinion at least). I’ve followed the swans long enough to know that’s not happening.

I’d bin Paterson to be honest whatever the finances. He has the odd moment but is largely ineffectual.

The other two would be great in a different financial world. I’m concerned though we won’t keep even Obafemi. Piroe forget about it. And we need the money. Needs to happen very quickly.

I’d be disappointed if we lost 3 big players, say Oba, Piroe and Downes for example. If we only sell 1 (Piroe would be the most obvious choice because of the money he would bring), and we’re able to strengthen the squad in all the areas needed, then I think it’s a good bit of business. I’d be willing to let Patterson go if we were able to find a suitable but cheaper option.

I think we’ve better than Paterson already. I know many really love him, I don’t particularly. I think he takes the wrong option fairly frequently. Flatters to deceive a bit for me.

The issue with the big clear out is how that fits in with the whole ‘Martin will build for the future’ line. He won’t if we just sell out three or four best players every year. We need to sell Piroe. I’d sell either Downes or Grimes. And I’d let a few others go as well to be honest (Christie, Ntcham, that bloke from Shrewsbury if he’s not good enough for any games this year).

Agree especially the Paterson flatters to deceive.

With Rodon fckn about in Spurs stiffs, gotta be worth a shout for a season loan.
Plus no excuses now for Russ and the scouts, he's got a full pre season.

If it starts off with Rodon and Ampadu it will be up there with one of the absolute great transfer threads.almost as good as the summer everyone was convinced we were signing David Silva.

He was finished for me when he tried to cash in on his four game hot streak to force a transfer and downing tools, losing Paterson is the least of our worries.
