I know we won yesterday. I'm glad of course, I love the Swans. But is it just me....I'm bored stiff with the type of football we play.

Don't get me wrong. As per Wigan goal we can sometimes play some lovely football - though we have to be conscious of the opposition standard. And the Cardiff double was great - tbh that's our season there. I can tolerate the fist pumps on those occasions.

Not so good of course have been those late awful defensive lapses.

But for the bulk of our playing time, I'm just, well ..bored.

There is little pace. Very few attempts to dribble past an opposition player. Pass pass pass while their defence just watches us. The box gets filled up. No way through. Back and recycle etc etc.

I don't look forward to games. It's become a chore. But I'll go anyway. But I do so yearn for some more entertainment.

Is it just me ?

Yeah, I was thinking that yesterday. I had watched the Sheffield Utd game before and having seen Burnley's devastating attack play this season, we are so far apart it can't be measured. Russel is still learning as a young Manager, but I hope he isn't too stuck in his ways to adapt with experience and the players he has at his disposal.

Huddersfield set themselves up with a 5,4,1. Their midfield four weren’t far off the back five, so was always going to be difficult to break down. That’s where we lack any quality or cutting edge to break teams down that set themselves up like that.
What I couldn’t understand were some of the substitutions, taking offensive players off for defensive. A good quality side would’ve capitalised on that.

It's not just you. The Coventry game was particularly dull as they were happy to sit in their lines whilst we passed, and passed, and passed...

Defensively things seem to be improving as it appears that Russy has finally worked out three at the back is a terrible tactic if you want to play silly buggers with the ball in defence. It's taken him the best part of two years to make that connection, and there does remain the possibility that with a few decent results behind him to ease the pressure he'll swap back to a three again. It wouldn't be the first time that he's done something like that.

Otherwise the lack of pace in the side is a chronic issue, as is the unwillingness from too many players, either because of instruction or temperament to attack space. Huddersfield left huge gaps at times yesterday and mostly all we did was slowly amble into it, or play it out to a surrounded Manning.

The guy next to me said he enjoyed the Coventry game. Thought we played well. Defence better, yes. But the rest of the game, well ...I was bored tbh. I think maybe we are too accepting of mediocrity now. We've been beaten down

In one simple aspect, I'd love a strong front man who can hold up the ball from a long pass. Don't get me wrong I love Piroe. But someone like Trundle, Jason Scotland, Bony, Danny Graham, McBurnie - who can hold and pass wide to someone like Dyer, Routledge, Sinclair, Montero ( when fit !) Dan James. Split their defence quickly. Less defenders in the box for the cross. Just mix it up a bit. Ah well, I can but dream.

It’s not. It is the few who lap up this garbage ,the unrelenting crap served up as entertainment.
We are being massively led by the nose by a very clever ,manipulative coach whose tactics ,man management and player care is as bad as any coach we have ever had. His treatment of loanees alone and the slimes of Whittaker should be evidence enough.
It isn’t though as the Martin lobby is very strong

I agree. My last game was Huddersfield away. Cost me over £100 for 4 of us to go. Got better things to do with my time and money. Just watching on the telly now and even then I sometimes don't bother watching all of it.

The passing isn't so much an issue, it's more the tempo we play at times is pedestrian. Also how many times does our players receive the ball with thier back to play when nobody is marking them and they just knock it backwards !? Wigan away especially the first half when we play on the front foot we look quite decent.

It’s a habit a new coach would stop instantly.
It is insane . Five passes when two suffice . How many times do we actually make a break then slow down, stop and pass it backwards . We can and have moved it quicker and score
You d think Russ would learn

Yes, pedestrian tempo passing is correct. ..forwards, back, sideways etc etc. Rarely incisive and with speed (Wigan excepted). One match. The Cardiff games are emotionally different, a win is a great win. The rest is more often just...boring
