Disgusting and shows up what a farce to hold the World Cup in such a Country.

https://www.pulse.ng/sports/football/mexican-woman-faces-7-years-in-prison-and-100-lashes-for-reporting-sexual-abuse-in/0lwdfyn

Someone broke into her room and sexually assaulted her, her only way out of being convicted was to marry her attacker.

The chose the only other possibility and left the Country.

Can imagine what is going to happen during the World Cup

Poor lass.
Victim becoming the accused.

Looks like most decent people's worst case scenarios in the WC 2022 have come/ are coming true.
Slave labour dying building the stadiums/ rapes being swept aside/ human rights violations growing in number.

Think that fans following any team are in for a rough ride out there truthfully
Although any hooligan elements are going to be properly dealt with. Possibly the only good thing to happen!

I think this shows the corruption in football, that Qatar wasn't stripped of its hosting capability when the stories of the stadiums first came out
Although, IMHO, it should never have been a winner anyway.
Plenty of more liberal Muslim countries out there,
Ones that don't make the UNs list of bad human rights lists.

Maybe they couldn't match the brown envelopes that Qatar did?

What seemed strange, isn't Andre Ayew now playing in Qatar. The season after taking the knee against all discrimination.

Sods law it will be the year that Wales get there but I shall not be watching and can't believe no prominent player of a top nation has boycotted it (yet)

Well hypocrisy is the way these days, footballers who take the knee will turn up in Qatar to play in a country with ongoing human rights issues. We have people demonstrating about slave labour in the past, taking photos with phones built today with Chinese slave labour, a country with millions in concentration camps, and wearing clothes made in Asian sweat shops.

I won't be going anywhere near the place whether wales quality or not.

Shame as for many of us if Wales actually reach the World Cup Finals it would be the first ( and possibly last ) that many of us were able to attend.
However 100% correct decision not to attend Risc

Wales v USA

Last 10 minutes of Wales v Iran

England v France last night

After those games I can feel the sportswash slowly coursing through me so those who fully committed must be long gone.

What happened to Grant Wahl concerns me

Just an article online by Daily Mail, apparently he'd been unwell for a few weeks.

A tutor I knew had been suffering from a viral infection for a few days or more, then struggled for breath and collapsed and died shocking only 57 as well. :(
