• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Someone mentioned on the old Twitter that Mohammed would block someone simply for being from Swansea, thought I'd see for myself, within 24hrs I was indeed blocked 🚫, despite never having tagged or mentioned him. 😂
Can you imagine the amount of shit he gets 😂😂

If you're interested he talks openly about his demons here.

42mins but can always skip some. Watched a few and they can be a bit hit and miss.

Thanks for sharing ❤️

I remember watching a show when he and a few others were taking on the Germans and he broke down speaking to Neil Ruddock about his lifestyle and urging him to change

Didn't see the show but saw this clip a while back

(y)

We mostly only see one side of footballers

We've seen it in other sports, where the entertaining 'old guard' are replaced by youngsters who haven't really done much (or anything) in the sport - and it becomes such a load of vanilla boredom.

I think we've lost the sight that sports programmes are entertainment as well as analysis. Give me Merson and Thompson having a barnstorming, unhinged argument over a couple of fresh-faced league one/two players talking about stats any day.

Worth watching was a decent show, plenty of characters and lots of insight into life in and outside of football.

It's probably become a little stale and due a change now, but Neville and Carragher coming on to Sky's Monday Night Football show was a stratospheric improvement over the awful Keys and Gray.

It seems more of a problem that the skills for being good at punditry, especially on live television, are fairly niche and not a lot of ex-players have those skills, but networks want ex-pro's in those jobs. Inevitably people not good enough get put on the air.

Seems like a decent guy who has battled some demons over the years. As a football pundit my gosh he doesn't half spout a lot of nonsense.

Makes make smile and a little angry upon times when you have the knuckle draggers giving male pundits like him a free pass because of what is between his legs.
I remember a program with him and a few other players think they were on a bit of a jolly and him and Ruddock had an up and downer, because Merse was concerned about his health was trying to get him to take it easy on the grog, with Ruddock hitting the roof and I think he stormed off which left Merse in tears.

Another bloke I can't stand, in fact I won't have him on here.

I saw the same program, he was genuinely cut up about it

Alan Brazil and Mike Parry on the early morning slot on Talksport was a must listen too .
The Chemistry bertween them was not scripted , I hope .

The late Mike Dicken was another marmite character , no sitting on the fence with his opinions .

I like Steve Parish too , but Talksport has really lost its appeal any more for me anyway.

Seems these broadcasts are dependant on phone ins to pad out their airings and get a dilemma amongst the listeners .

MOTD is really pushing and quite rightly the role of the female pundit to the fore on tele .

Sometimes too much pushing will have a bit of a PC culture being seen by viewers .
