Another shout out for the iPhone 14 Pro (the Pro Max is a little OTT). Outstanding camera and what I would say is the smoothest operating system of the lot, but this is just a personal preference).

I also have a 13 and the camera on that is also extremely good and a step up from 12 and it’s predecessors.

How much are they to buy or have on contract? I've an Iphone Xs its a reconditioned one and I'm on sim only with EE 20 quid a month rolling contract, been great so far.

Being a skinflint but being in the iPhone fan club means having to make compromises.

I bought a used handset from Back Market. It arrived for a song given its excellent condition. It's an 11 Pro, and has a monster 256GB which means no more reloading of apps or having to pay for extra iCloud space, while costing me £9 a month SIM only.

It's definitely been one of my better phone decisions.

9 quid a month, lovely stuff, what package do you get for that, Minutes, Text, Data etc?

I'm a notorious non tekkie and a bit of a tight git, so I followed tinternet recommendations to buy my latest phone about a year ago and I'm very pleased with it - the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Cost about 230€ and it does everything I want, such as taking great photos and videos, accessing the internet very well and, oh yeah, making phone calls. It linked into my car phone system effortlessly. It's also a good size and feels solid, as the actress said to the bishop.

Mrs got a Redmi not sure what model though, she drives me mad with it though she can't do this can't do that same with her Ipad and I'm not that clever with the bloody things, my lad is though, but you got to catch him in the right mood

I’m a non Trekkie and have always had android phones, but my last one was an iPhone XR. It’s now 2 years old but the actual model is about 6 years old, it does what I need of it and was quite reasonably priced when I bought it. I’m on a Plusnet Sim only deal which costs me £9 a month for 15gb of data, unlimited calls and texts and free EU roaming which is a bonus. One of my kids recently upgraded his Three contract and has lost his “free” roaming.
Plusnet are part of the BT/EE group and are being wound down, but their deals for existing customers are much better than anything EE offer.

The 14 Pro was upwards of a grand, but it's a company phone so I didn't buy it. The 13 was £800 give or take which I purchased direct from Apple as they had decent part ex on an 11 I had which was in immaculate condition apart from the battery life. Not cheap things to buy if you want the latest tech, and undoubtedly a contributor to the decent performance of the Apple stock.

Data is 3GB (My usage rarely reaches 1GB). The rest is unlimited.

Giffgaff was cheaper but I'm a loyal fool.

Max, get on Lebara mobile. I’m paying £7 a month for unlimited texts and minutes and 30g of data. It was £1.20 a month for the first 6 months as well, no contract tie in and the best buy is that it works like a dream around the stadium. Let me know if you are going to go with them and I’ll do a proper referral and get myself more money off my bill 🤣

Here you go, look at some of these deals.

They use the Vodafone signal, service is outstanding.

My son has that phone and for the money it's a serious bit of kit. If you are used to apple devices then android will feel different, but it's still pretty easy to use.

Good range of opinions , thanks everyone.
Currently got a 12 pro max which seems to be treating me good so far so unsure to stick with this or get a new phone

I'm on vodafone and Morfa is practically a dead zone for me. I'm genuinely perplexed/envious that you get a good signal there.

Are you on 5G or 4G? Don’t be surprised if 4G no longer works effectively.

That’s excellent value for 30GB of data.

5G in and around the stadium mate, perhaps it’s your phone that’s letting you down? I was with o2 previously and I couldn’t even send a normal sms test message. Now I can watch videos of any incident that happened in the game.
