If he'd gone to a prem club or abroad I'd happily wish him well.

Instead, dirty Leeds while in the same division as us..... I hope he flops badly.

But then there's the need to get as much of the add ons as possible.

A cruel conundrum. But seeing him in a Leeds shirt is hard to stomach

Before Watson I would have agreed with you, but he seems to have his finger on the pulse and is very proactive in transfer dealings.
Right now the elephant in the room is a creative 10-15+ assists a season attacking midfielder to play behind what I am guessing will be a front two of Yates and Ginnelly/Kukharevych/Cullen. Would be especially handy if he could also chip in with 5-10 goals a season too

It’s not Watson that I was thinking about. It’s the budget he’s going to get from across the pond.

How in the name of our lord, Lee Trundle, can selling our top scorer two seasons running be good for the team?

We have spent more this season than we have since our relegation from the Premier League.
With Coleman and Watson driving I find that argument holds less and less water lately.

If selling Piroe gives us the finances to address two to three problem areas in the squad (one more left back, an experienced central defender and most importantly and expensively an attacking midfielder who can lay on assists and get goals too) as opposed to keeping him and not being able to fill those holes then yes its a good one for the team.

That question will be better answered in a week when the window closes.

Indeed we have, so my question is:

Have we already spent the Piroe money in anticipation of this sale?

Watson's PR is even stronger than Martin's was, fair play.

By all accounts no but in saying that, name that I have heard is not an inspiring one given we want a goalscorer to replace Piroe.

They are supposedly pushing on with other names before a concrete push on a replacement.

It's going to be a very busy week, looking likely Wood will be out and it wouldn't suprise me that we see 6 new faces by the end of next week.

Have we?

I’m not sure that’s the case.

We replaced Obafemi and Whittaker and Kyle Joseph and with Yates and the Ukrainian whose name I can’t spell. We’ve sold Lati and Ntcham and brought in Ginnelly and Key.
We’ve brought in three loans to replace last year’s loans and Manning. And we’ve also loaned out or sold a few young players and brought in a new left sided defender for a couple of hundred thousand.

Plus now we’ve sold Piroe and we may be selling Wood.

What am I missing? We had already only spent what we have brought in (certainly give or take anyway), have reduced our wage bill with a couple of the big earners going and now have sold our most valuable player.

Hmm, I’m gonna be ponderin and wonderin all day now whether Planet Swans is on ‘Ecks’ or ‘Zee’. It’s not easy being retired.
