Either we sell and then have to replace his goals, or we sell and consider that we have already replaced his goals with our summer signings. Which is it?
I'm of the opinion that our transfer business has been done in the expectation he would be sold, and we'll be in a tight spot if he's not. We've brought in three forwards, two for significant fees, so if two end up sat on the bench that's poor use of limited resources considering we don't have a left wing back still.
Without regular big player sales our solvency depends on the whims of the American investors. If they keep pouring money into the black hole then we'll be fine. If that stops large loans are hard to come by (because banks know Championship clubs can't pay them back) and we can very, very quickly end up in a Reading situation with points deductions and embargoes for not paying bills on time.
