PL clubs won't care if EFL teams go under

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54499998

Here we go

They've played their move, it's 'here are our demands, if you want the money'

Abhorrent. I'm honestly close to being done with the lot.

They could have just requested that teams in European competitions don't enter, that makes sense and would probably be better for the competition, to have a new winner each year.

But to outright scrap it, is to speak without any thought for 90% of the other participants

I think i'll wait and see the detail before I make my mind up.

They interviewed Rick Parry this morning and he reckoned that with 25% of media rights money going to the EFL it would be a game changer in supporting the whole of the EFL. Also in helping to bridge the enormous gap between the PL and the Championship.

As I say, i'll wait and consider it in detail.

Same here, that's a significant amount of money. But they could afford to do that without the restructure.

We had our time in the PL and it was mostly great, it should have left our club in a strong position but the greed that came with it has knocked us back years.

Apparently the 250m 'rescue package' being offered is actually a loan, that will of course be repayed in full.

There is no way that this 25% of shared revenue is what it seems on the surface.

The more I read, the more I despair, and am eventually resigning to the death of the game, as we know it.

The 250m is a LOAN and will be deducted form future Television payments! EFL clubs will end up exactly where they were, it's a stay of execution

25% of a depleted pot, that the greedy six will already have devoured, and taken everything they want from, goes to EFL clubs, who will get the scraps

It's a trojan horse!

Well I don’t care if they scrap the Rumbelows seeing as we’ve won it but I don’t get the scrapping of one pre-season game in the Charity Shield.

Realistically only about 6 clubs ever play in it, and they can get more money, for the same game, in Qatar or somewhere. I don't know much actually goes to Charity anymore.

Yeah you’re probably right there.

So much going on, it's hard to keep up.

It's now turning into a internal political melodrama, as everyone jostles for power

Rick Parry is f**ked, oh what a pity.

The thing is about football is that the same faces go around and around, and you can get a feel if something is genuine, or a good idea by the person backing it.

E.g If this c**t backs it, then it's probably not a good thing.

I'd rather play the ball not the man, but in this case I think you're right. He seems to have left a trail of misery wherever he's been.

Marcelo Bielsa on Project Big Picture:

"A humble opinion of mine is that the tip of the iceberg has a responsibility to the rest of the iceberg. If anything describes English football, it's Leagues One and Two. It's important not to forget where you came from."
