• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Decent day out down to Leyton Orient.
Did an away game there back in the Martinez Days (the 5-0?). One girl who came with us kept asking who is Martin Hedge.
Coach and Horses is my all time favorite away venue.(The Griffin a close 2nd) Had some absolute top times there. The 2-2 when Mumford scored atthe end is the highlight. (Feb 2002?) A load of Dutch/Belgians were there and all the guys who had just bought the club(MM,HJ,LD etc). It was the start of our rise and it makes me sad to think about

Isn't Orient the ground where they built swanky apartment building next to the ground and you see groups drinking beer on their balconies watching the game.

Best one there was around 1990, think it was the first game of the season and my memory is telling me it was a boiling day. Brilliant day out that, one of my domestics favs.

My earliest memory of Orient is Tommy Hutchinson running down the wing crossing for a Sean Mccarthy diving header. Also first and only time I saw the black hooped shirts live..

I saw us lose 4-2 at Brisbane sometime in the 80s. Pascoe scored for 1-0 and it looked like a good day; then it wasn’t. I quite like them though. A small club battling against Wet Spam scum.

I was there that day. There was a lot of optimism at the start of that season.
We spent a shed load of money by then division 3 standards bringing in Jimmy Gilligan and Terry Connor to spearhead the attack. Alan Davies rejoined us too from Bradford
Huge away contingent, I’m guessing 1500 on the open bank and Orient proceeded to dish out a 3-0 hammering to us.

Wimbledon had 4 great chances to score second half.. County looked very data driven 🤓
