Player Recruitment or Manager

I think it's difficult to judge players when we change the staring XI so often.

Outside of Galbraith and Burgess (our two brightest sparks from the summer) no player has had a run of starts to be able to nail down their ability.

When you're buying young players who haven't played in England before they need playing time and patience - something Vipotnik has benefitted from.
This is a fair point.

If there's one thing I will unequivocally criticise Sheehan on it's an inability to settle on a preferred starting XI

Agreed, players need a run in the team, especially new signings.

The early season promise of Galbraith has dropped off.

I am not worried about Galbraith at all. He has had to shoulder a lot of responsibility with lots of different partners and roles in the side and has still shown more than enough. A player like him is never going to singlehandedly drive us to wins when the system around him is stuttering so much.

I do not think this is true. If we maintained the results of the opening months, looking defensively strong and just about eeking out wins I believe the atmosphere on here and in the ground would be euphoric right now. We have a clear plan and style under Sheehan it just is not an effective plan or style.
Me personally Tardy, I was bored shitless with the 1st 12 games. We did gain 16 points in them games but I was very frustrated (and that's not normal for me) 😞.

Before today, I thought 40 coach/60 players but after that first half even I am starting to think it may be 50/50.

Nevertheless, I still remain very sceptical about the players we've signed, outside Galbraith and Burgess. I'm still not convinced a different coach makes much difference on that front.
A Swedish international is surely able to improve us when he’s played in his correct position.

"An international" is not a surefire signifier of quality. There was an entire thread on this the other day.
That’s an easy out. Let me put it another way; when we signed Widell, did anyone mutter “oh he’s shit”. The majority were creaming themselves about the signing.

Both , too many midfirld players , too lightweight, and for some reason weve changed our style from last season to WTF do we do!

He has looked bright at times and I wish he had played more so far but he is 23 years old and has played only 4 minutes of International football so it is not like we are neglecting prime Tomas Brolin.

How do you consider that we’ve changed style since last season? Don’t mention that 3xCB’s as this is a recent change, but are we really that different to the back end of last year? I don’t see that much of a difference.

I'm not worried about him either, he's regressed as player from what we saw at the start of the season though.

That’s also an easy out. I won’t be swayed from my belief that other coaches could get a better tune out of him, starting by not playing him out wide.

Oh do not get me wrong I agree. It would be like sticking Galbraith out wide and wondering why it is not working. My point was that an International cameo in itself does not mean he is a guaranteed star at this level.
