Players made of Glass

Think its something to do with the in and out shake it all about velocity, luckily we didn't have the new new 20mph law when Giggs was in his pomp 😂
Managing the blood flow to a certain part of the body, the dirty bar stewards.

Not sure I've the energy for that type of shenanigans these days 😵‍💫
Beer time, my eldest bought me a couple or bottles of IPA to try, its very nice, but its 6.1%, so I'll keep the other bottle for another time 😂

Now that the dinosaur training regimes are on their way out, it's probably more to do with players bodies being unable to cope with the demands.

Some players, you mean.

They need to go on the SAS Who Dares Win's show, toughen them up a bit the pampered fanny's. 😂

The workshy often bottle out by claiming an injury, but I did see Walsh jar his foot once.
Sometimes talent and genetics don't match up.

Walsh seems to love football and is clearly an immensely talented player, his 30 yarder into the top corner towards the end of the season is all the evidence you need to see that. There are cases though where the body is just not suited to the skills that someone possesses, sometimes its due to growth (or lack thereof - think of Messi who was famously subjected to growth hormone treatments as a child due to concerns he would be too small to show off his undeniable talent in professional football) and other times someone may genuinely just have weak bones/tendons/muscles that are prone to injury.

Remember the whole way that the body is built is by intentionally causing (minor) injury and letting it heal better and stronger than before. Different bodies do have different limits and unfortunately for some not everybody is created equal.

Some players are basically bulletproof and can play game after game, shrug off knock after knock with no issues. Grimes and Ashley Williams are two good examples of that. Others, through no fault of their own, just aren't as physically robust. Call it genetics or simple bad luck. They're just more prone to injury.

There's really no need to cast aspersions on players who aren't fit. They aren't weak, pulling a sickie or "hiding". They'd love to be on the pitch. They get paid more if they do for a start.

Some players are fragile both physically and mentally, there's no harm in questioning this. The amount of times Ashley Williams was handed pain killers during a game shows his determination to play through the pain. Where as some players want taking off the first sign of a twinge.

Taking appearance money out of the equation, they still get paid rather handsomely if they play or not.

Here's a name many will remember, Morriston's very own legend Chris Marustik, used to regularly take a cortisone jab in his ankle in the dressing room before a game to get him through 90 minutes, he was on a walking stick in his 40's, he did what he had to do to put food on the table, how things have changed.
Chris isn't with us anymore but his legacy lives on...

I had a cortisone jab in my shoulder on Thursday and it’s still giving me grief.

Playing through pain was a way of life for some of these guys. Whereas I’ve taken the easy option of mostly laying on the sofa and avoiding my DIY.

My bad back comes in terribly handy when anything physical needs doing around the house 👍🏻
