Cardiff were told to pay the first instalment of £5.3m to Nantes.

"We haven't paid and at the moment have no intention of paying," Cardiff chairman Mehmet Dalman told BBC Radio Wales Sport.

Has to be a points deduction and ultimately relegation surely? They've been told to pay 3 times and they are just taking the piss. Transfer Umbongo can't be sufficient for that.

They shouldn’t be allowed to sign anyone until they prove they want to pay for a previous signing

Nantes should be offered free transfers of any players in the Cardiff squad they might want (I doubt there is any) and Cardiff forced to complete the transfer of those players to a value set by an independent body.

I can't think of another situation coming to mind where a club has refused to pay for a transfer - if there is no precedent then FIFA needs to come down hard and make sure that no club will ever think they can just get away with an embargo for a few windows to save some money.

Imagine for example Man City signing Mbappe for 130m and refusing to pay. An embargo for 3 windows would be nothing with the squad that they have and they have saved an insane amount of money.

Woooo, yay, we are saved...

Meh

They made that obvious from the offset the cash hadn’t physically been kept aside. Not the brightest fan base in the world fair play.

I couldn't give less of a fùck to be honest, if they went under tomorrow it would be one of the best days of my life though...

I thought they had an accounting ‘expert’ that would surely know that a provision just reduces profit (or in their case increases a loss. Still need the cash management to be able to pay it. Seems they didn’t bother with that bit, despite having 3 years to do it. They CHOSE to buy/loan more shit players and pay off shit managers instead. Should be fined £100,000 a day until they pay and deducted one point per day. Transfer embargo? Taking the piss.

I respectfully disagree. We need Cardiff just like they need us.

Cardiff deserve a transfer embargo and if they still don’t play ball, then income from TV rights etc is withheld etc until such time as Nantes are paid what they’re owned. If things still aren’t sorted after that, then in my opinion they should be suspended from the League and booted out. As much as Swans fans dislike them, I think Cardiff going out of business would be bad for Swansea and Welsh football.

And I respectfully disagree, we need Cardiff about as much as we need diphtheria, the sooner they go tits up the better.
Hope this help 👍

Why do we need them?

** Edit - I'm not saying I want them to go bust, normal people like all of us rely on their income from the club and wouldn't want to see anyone out of work, but just not sure on how it would impact the Swans.
