At our current rate of point accumulation we're looking at around 90 by season's end. That's almost always enough for at least second but it's going to be tight this year unless one of Brentford, Norwich or us have a wobble in form.

What's the highest points total scored by the team that finished third?

I think that this gives the final last season:

So this weekends winners are us, Brentford and Bournemouth. Norwich, Reading and Watford drop points. That's not too shabby

As someone just said, we just need to worry about ourselves and keep winning

Agreed, we are still in a very strong position with a great chance, did any of us really expect this at the start of the season?

Sunderland missed auto with 90 points... yikes

Yep, Sunderland came 3rd with 90 points in 1998, and Brighton missed out with 89 a few years ago when Boro went up.

I think it'll be Brentford and Norwich auto with us going up via playoffs. 3 best teams in the league this season.

That's a very good question.

In recent years, I think that it's:

(1) 2017/2018 - Fulham - 88 points
(2) 2011/2012 - West Ham - 86 points
(=3) 2013/2014 - Derby - 85 points
(=3) 2016/2017 - Reading - 85 points

Someone on this forum said that we should be aiming for 89 points, which would mean 12 wins from the last 19 matches, which on current form is very achievable. Can anyone coax SgorioFruit into starting a countdown page again?

Meanwhile, over on the Anus board , big talk that they can make the play offs, and happy with the style MM has brought. They'll never change, and nor would I want em too

With Brentford smashing another team today, it got me thinking that it may not be a bad thing if they finish top. If we don’t make the top two and end up in the play offs, the team I’d least like to face are them.

Despite some of their fans being entitled (and to be fair look at some of ours), they’re playing bloody well at the moment. If play like that have been and stuff everyone around us, may end up doing us a favour

After watching Brentford on dodgy stream last night, I have to say I hold a bit more hope.

Don't get me wrong, they're a good side, but they have a reliance on Toney and they're really very average in the wide areas.

Toney has 22 goals and 9 assists this season. Those figures wouldn't be replicated by their replacement. I think with Toney they'll get over the line fine , but without him they're there for the catching.

Hopefully Stoke, Milwall, Brizzle and Barnsley are all up for it this weekend. Oh and Coventry too while I'm at it.
