Meanwhile, over on the Anus board , big talk that they can make the play offs, and happy with the style MM has brought. They'll never change, and nor would I want em too

That's 3 games in a row that they've won and I'm beginning to get worried. You can easily see them overtaking Bournemouth and reaching the Play-Offs. But on the positive side, that may give us the chance to beat them 4 times in the same season (a double Double).

The sarcastic irony clearly lost on you as was him. Baffled I even had to point that out tbh.
Evening! Not lost on me at all, I was just making a polite point, that's all.

Glyn, that would be sooooo fcking funny.

Imagine the meltdown. That said, let's not get ahead of ourselves and get too cocky.

As a three times Olympic gold winner and someone who turned down a professional contract with Barcelona when I was 15 - I reckon we’ll make the automatics. Keep the faith.

There's plenty of games to go and there could be loads of changes before the end.

From the stats conversation the highest points for 3rd placed teams (4 highest)

1998
1 Nottingham Forest 94
2 Middlesbrough 91
3 Sunderland 90

2016
1 Burnley 93
2 Middlesbrough 89
3 Brighton & Hove Albion 89

1993
1 Newcastle United 96
2 West Ham United 88
3 Portsmouth 88

2018
1 Wolverhampton Wanderers 99
2 Cardiff City 90
3 Fulham 88

So 91 points has been the highest required to take 2nd so far.

The lowest 3rd points totals, which this year I'm sure won't be anywhere near.

1994
1 Crystal Palace 73
2 Nottingham Forest 74
3 Millwall 58

1996
1 Sunderland 83
2 Derby County 79
3 Crystal Palace 75

2008
1 West Bromwich Albion 81
2 Stoke City 79
3 Hull City 75

1997
1 Bolton Wanderers 98
2 Barnsley 80
3 Wolverhampton Wanderers 76

1994 seems an unbelievable year, 3rd placed team on 58, so second only needed 59, Norwich are already at that point.

I think your table’s wrong, Millwall had 74 points in 1994, and Forest had 83.

Your right, I'll have to correct them.

I used this source for the tables http://www.league321.com/england-football-historic-league-tables.html

Which were good until 91/92 season, then from 92/93 and 93/94 seasons they only had the Premier League, then picked up all 4 again. I assume my alternative source was incorrect for that one year.

I'd be absolutely gutted if we finish 3rd and 10+ pts ahead of 4th then fail in the playoffs, and the first part could very easily happen

My only concern is the loss of momentum which may or may not happen... Like my old nan used to say... In a 100 years time who'll give a fuck.

Barnsley 1 up against Barcelona shit sorry I meant Brentford
Been here before. Evidence suggest they will come back from this but it cant last if they keep conceding the first goal. They will come unstuck.
Barnsley are a decent side though so live in hope :)
