One of the funniest stories I ever heard was the one where Betty Jackal supposedly stuck the head in Ray Kennedy.

Went to that game. Apart from the win my overriding memories are of the stadium itself, I’d never imagined a stadium could be as nice as that, and a big advert for ‘On yer bike’ publication with the slogan ‘Get on yer bike Tosh!’

I was also at that game and when Ray tapped in his goal, he was only about 5 yards in front of me. Yes it was a nice stadium but as I recall, the home crowd were very hostile and rushed us at one point. RIP Ray.

Yes, and we were housed in a cage basically on the clock end sandwiched between Arsenal fans either side! Kids today don’t know they’re born

Glad I had the opportunity to see him play in our colours.

A player of great class, I remember the talk around the City that he was only here for his retirement money, nothing could be further from the truth.. RIP.
