A lot of water has flowed beneath the Tory bridge in those two years. I was quite buoyant about the way in which Sunak and his team handled the furlough scheme, but I also acknowledge that they did not have a solution to help and support all. BUT, his peers and colleagues have done untold damage since then, across a number of departments and on a whole range of subjects. I look forward to the day when the next Tory candidate knocks my front door.

Whatever he does won't please the Tory heartland in the South who feel very disappointed in the way their party is pandering to the new Tories in the north , since covid the Tories have done pretty much what labour would have done but done it in a totally incompetent way because the cabinet is full of lightweights who only got their jobs because they supported brexit , hard times are coming , its inevitable

Never been a hero to me. Claims to be a tax cutter yet taxes have never been so high. Another snake oil salesman.

Highest tax burden in decades, national debt many times more than it was in 2010. Remind me again how the Tories are the party of fiscal prudence. Absolute chancers.

There'll be some tokens which the Tory press will lap up. None of it will help out lot down these parts. Certainly not the big sorts of infrastructure projects we need.

You'd think, now of all times, we'd see a bit more of a push to ensure our own energy independence, what with us being a windswept island with some rather strong tidal ranges. Probably not eh.

Yeah, seems to be geared to the GE. It will benefit big business, those on pensions and living off income from other investments and landlords. I haven't seen too much and don't really know where to look for the highlights yet, but the losers seem to be those on benefits (employment and disability), universal credit, carers, the environment. So pretty much as you'd expect from the tories.

Pretty dull and unimaginative, and geared towards the election and not people's needs. It'll probably work too. That 1% income tax cut in 2 years will be flogged to death come the election (and will probably still be a promise by then and then rolled back on straight after they're voted in next time).
