• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

People on Twitter defending him fffs!! He’s clearly been doing stuff he shouldn’t be doing then pleading poverty and mental health, shame on him

You have absolutely got it in for this fella doing the Swans tops, personally from what I have seen they look brilliant. my guess is you know him, you don't like him, so choose to stir some shite about this fella? More shame on you, speaking about people like that.

On reflection today, I should not have made aggressive comments like that, I should have said why are you so angry with him? When it doesn't affect you.

I've bought a couple of shirts from Rob and, on the surface, it looks like he's being hard done by.

However, I do think Rob needs to provide us with lot more detail if he wants people's support, rather than just sympathy.

What exactly is he being sued for?
Are damages being claimed, and for how much, or does the club just want him to stop producing the replicas?
Did he try to get the club's permission before starting to produce the replicas?
Did he get the club's permission?
If not, did he get any warnings from the club?
Did he ignore those warnings?

That sort of thing - I'd like to know more although I can also understand if he doesn't want to provide it.

I agree.

Reading between the lines i think he is claiming he never sold replicas only his own shirts from his vast collection….i suppose if you bought a shirt from his collection rather than say something produced fairly recently with a bar code indicating that it had been say manufactured fairly recently in the Far East then he wouldn't have a case to answer, however he appears have a few issues if the club are taking court action which is very expensive.

If i was the club and i had asked him to stop i would suggest that they had that evidence otherwise they would have no power to stop him selling his own genuine shirts to whoever he wanted.

My recollection was that somebody was offering for sale “new” shirts in whatever size you wanted. I don’t know who that was but if it was him he is in big trouble.

That's how I remember it. People on here mentioned that instead of the new club shirt, they were buying remanufactured nostalgia kits. These weren't officially licenced. Taking someone to court for Intellectual Property theft is really expensive so the club must have a pretty decent case.

Also looking at the original tweet, it's unclear what he means by "originals". Are they actual kits from the time period that were bought from the club at the time or are the "originals" he's created based upon designs from history.

I took it what he said, that he bought them back in the day! My view on this is regardless of what he was doing the swans should back off with the court case.

I agree with this. I don’t know the ins and outs of the legalities but I wonder what’s to be gained by hauling a long standing fan through the courts.

They were brand new shirts he created based upon designs from history.
I’ve got one myself.

If there's enough of a market to justify taking the fella to court then you have to wonder why the club weren't selling these shirts to begin with

That said if he ignored a cease and desist then he was asking for trouble
