Root Resigns ...

About time he got the respect he deserves.

14 centuries he has scored whilst being under the pressure of being captain of a team the media love to build up and knock down.

Hope he comes to Glamorgan to play with his brother.

About time!!

It had to happen, ECB need a proper shake up though, changing the Captain alone isn't gonna cure all its ill's selection committee needs a clear out etc

Too many are hyped up too soon and fail to deliver.
They've gone through more openers than a John West canning factory.

The men's team has NO Test Captain, head coach, selector, or managing director.

They must have someone in mind for the Captaincy surely? as for the other position's they are due a overall, Darren Gough as been brought on board in a post hasn't he? scrap that I think he's at Yorkshire now.

Rob Key is in line for MD as well, one of Paul Collingwood or Alex Stewart mooted to become head coach apparently.

When is the next series and against who?

To say that things are in disarray would be an understatement.

There's far to much emphasis being placed on the shorter game these days and that's why players are not developing into Test players apart from a few not many have the aptitude to play Test cricket, Batsman like Jason Roy, Eoin Morgan are ingrained in the short game, probably the best fast bowler at the moment Jofra Archer suffers injury after injury, Jimmy Anderson is past his best understandably.

Not sure of any probables or possibles coming up through the ranks. Will Jacks is up and coming as a batsman and Spinner, but I think he's around 25

New Zealand. The best team in the world. In about six weeks from now. Lovely.

It’s a big summer coming up. Three tests against NZ, three against South Africa who have improved a lot and will be no pushover. Plus the remaining test from the India series last year which was abandoned when India were worried they’d have to miss the IPL.

If we get appointments right we'll be competitive.
If not the Kiwis will take us to the cleaners and the South Africans will just love to humiliate us.
Please not Stokes as captain, the media will build him up and use a wrecking ball attached to a scud missile to destroy him.

India coming here for one test?

I’ve not been paying much attention as I’ve found it all a little disheartening. I do like an ENG V NZ series though regardless of whether it’s home or away.

I shall get clued up on the schedules.
