• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Flange. Whenever someone says it in work meetings, I’ve got to try and stifle my sniggers. I’m over 50 years of age and still can’t hear it without it being hilariously funny.
It's the 7 year old in all of us(blokes).
Farts do the same for me, bloody hilarious.šŸ˜‚

Haven’t been to Rossis in years. Roma 2000 in Gorseinon is top quality. And Hik’s in Brynhyfryd does the best takeaway Sunday dinner and the only one you’ll ever need.

If we’re talking actions as in farting, up there with that is people tripping over and someone jumping out and scaring people. Do me every time.

Fond memories of the chippy across the street from the Rhyddings pub in Brynmill. No idea if it's still there. Park Fish bar, I think? Geoff was the name of the man who ran it with his family (if my memory serves me right). loved the fish there, so good. We used to get food there every Friday.

I also used to spend an inordinate amount of time in there playing the R-Type arcade machine they had there. I was like Neo in the matrix on that thing.

Will never beat the rissole , battered or bread crumbed as you want with you chips on the chippie in Neath Road in Hafod back in the day .

So many detours on a day out to stand in the queue and well worth it in the end .

Rossis by The Liberty , not been there match day but will I make the effort , maybe not .

Where does the ancestry hail from?

Well, when I say my grandparents came over here ā€˜with them’, I mean that they came here at the same time and got to know them. Not sure where the Rossi family are from, but mine are down in Puglia.

Oh and as for chippies, Shillingsfords in Neath are hard to beat.

It's fine-nothing special. Curry sauce is good and chips acceptable. Rissoles are pretty good but since you don't get them in Somerset or the Wirral that probably makes them seem better. Never much rated Macari's back in the day.

The rissole from the Windsor in town, nothing has ever come close since.

It was one of my favorite places in the world 😢

Caereithin Cafe was great for volume of chips. The one in Brynhyfryd down by the bottom Plough was my favourite, before it was a Chinese.

A lovely part of the world šŸŒ
