They have to a certain extent already and if they are sensible in the next window, we can get promoted on a small budget.
We already have the nucleus of a very good side. Just ask WBA
Seems you just have a downer on everything the upper management do ?
They have nothing to gain by staying at this level.
We will lose RM and our best players and be worse than Cardiff if we do not show the ambition

We’ve payed fees for Obafemi,Piroe, Downes large fees for our usual budget considering parachute payments have stopped, I think they are backing him with funds, not including the fees payed to secure Martin and his staff, and I’d imagine Ntcham would be on a tidy wage considering he was a ‘free transfer’

The thing is we don't need to be spending alot to get the players needed, we have a great management team who will even now be on the lookout for players to bring in, players who won't cost the earth in the January window, players who are on the up, players who are young and hungry, players who could make it in the PL.

After last night I truly believe that we can make the play offs as we have a manager who a vision for success, I'm so glad he is with us as we could be on the cusp of something good, let's enjoy the ride YJBs.

Its a damn shame Roberts left for such a small fee , he was the only true leader on the pitch we had and could have galvanised this team, I expect a mid table finish still, there will be injuries and players will lose form, hopefully Martin can build a team good enough for automatic promotion over the next few years, sick of the play off lottery

Agreed Itchy. I expected/am happy with mid table this season tbh (which still could be the case), as we are very much work in progress. I think we're watching the evolution of a thing of beauty - we all just need to be patient, supportive and positive. We did it last time on a limited budget, and with some careful shrewd additions we can do it again. I said this to RM in the fan's forum, it's not about getting to the PL, it's about staying there. RM certainly is an outstanding appointment imho (however long he stays), and a fit for the club - I said that too.

When he leaves, it's likely that it'll be because of the success here, but momentum should prevail as it did before, and as it looks to be at MKD. I saw as good an alignment of the club/management/fans since a long time. Onwards and upwards, COYS.

I don’t think you can say the owners aren’t backing us financially.

I can't be bothered to look, but did we not just spend more in the summer transfer window than we did in any of our 3 seasons in the Championship before moving to the PL (even allowing for inflation)?

I think it's clear now that whatever we think of the Americans, they are broadly running the club the way the previous owners did before reaching the PL. Meaning we will spend what we can afford, will sell prize assets as needed to balance the books and not risk financial disaster.

I agree about the owners but the net spend statistic is a red herring.

Nope… you said it better.

The way we go about business now is perfect. Spending what we can afford and selling our assets when we have to balance books - but we’ve invested in a good scouting network with succession planning for players and managers leaving.
