• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

These Ukranians are brave, not just hard but prepared to go face to face with the foe and unlike the "phony brave" they walk the walk not just talk the talk
Prepared to die and have died to defend their homeland.
I am in awe and can't think of many of the so called "hard men" over here who would follow their lead

The world has too many c***s like Putin, Trump, Johnson, that somehow get to lead. Second law of thermodynamics, I think all these c***s are the result.
If you tell enough lies, it becomes the truth for people. It's about the power of persuasion and these people are masters of it, not everyone is taken in by it of course, just enough to get them voted in, of course the system which gets them to power is corrupt which also helps.

Zelensky certainly has the backing of his people. They interviewed a young guy on Sky news earlier, who was joining up, and when asked about the President he was very complimentary about him, and said he was prepared to go to war to save Ukraine.

Just look at the anti-vaxxers for a recent example of this.

There'll be a big queue i think Blazey.

Incredible leader.

The Russians are racking up the war crimes

I can barely read or watch anymore but turning the TV off or shutting the internet page is a trivial luxury these poor people don't have

He’s exactly what you’d want in a leader in times like this. A very humbling and powerful image of a man

Look at these kids, translation in comments. They've been lied to and thrown to the wolves. It's clear they'd rather be anywhere but there. There's talk that Russia underestimated the task at hand and that the majority of forces so far have been conscripted kids who are poorly armed and poorly trained. The worrying prospect is that the real soldiers are being sent in now with a number of Spetsnaz already captured. Throw in the air raids that are predicted throughout the night and I think it's gonna get a whole lot worse yet

Apparently his popularity dipped for a while, but of late it’s gone through the roof and he’s pulling the nation together. Let’s hope the international community and leaders on the world stage support him and the Ukraine.

I know nothing of the Ukrainian president really before this week. But if Britain or Wales was being invaded I’d like someone like him in charge.

Today the Irish Government waived their visa rules for Ukrainian refugees. Every Ukrainian who gets to Ireland will be allowed to stay. Should the UK do the same? I personally don't know the answer to this. And presumably visas need several weeks to be drawn up, and the British Embassy in Kiev is presumably busy with other things.

There are lots of refugees in Calais who are also the victims of war in the Sudan, Yemen, Libya and others or who are facing persecution for their faith, so why treat the Ukrainians differently? Libya is probably as near to us as Ukraine is, and we did help to destabilise that country so maybe we owe them something. Is it because Ukraine is part of Europe and the others aren't? I'm not knocking that as a reason, because I think that I agree with it, but I'd like to know other peoples thoughts. (Just please don't parrot any bxxxsxxt that "this country is full up already".)
