S25/26 | Swansea 1 (Vipotnik) Watford 1 | Att: 15,543 | The Official Match Thread | The Swansea.com Stadium | The EFL Championship

Exactly like Steve Cooper did
Cooper was all about keeping a solid shape and counter attacking from what I remember. Sheehan is at least more proactive in that he has us pressing and trying to win the ball back. It’s why I can put up with us playing longer as we often see our players putting in the effort to win it back. It’s miles better than sit in and wait to counter.

And massively reliant on Ayew, we don't have anyone of his ability now.

Hive concern to me especially first half......how often was the ball in the air. We just seemed to be hoofing it up into no mans land.

We looked so much better with the ball at our feet.
Same v boro, but then we went and played lovely stuffv Sheff who are arguably the stronger team. Weird one really

Total clusterfukc today, Vip should have started as target man because playing Cullen as solo striker is clearly not working. We should have buried those time wasters and played OUR game, not let them dictate us. It was clear they came to spoil when they played "the wrong end" after the toss.

Subs made a massive difference for us but too late.

Sheehan = poor selection and timing of subs. Can do better.
He didn't hang around bringing on the subs 2nd half. He clearly told them to go out 2nd half and sort it but was clear after a few minutes that it wasn't going to happen and he changed it.

They came with a plan and we fell into the trap.

I think our Brighton friend is better off coming on later in the game when it's more open and initial intensity has dropped. Given some space he does look decent but he was mauled today by the Watford pressing

As everyone said - we CANNOT start games with Cullen as the lone striker. he has none of the tools.
What really summed it up for me was his total inability to make anything stick in his hold up play, and his total lack of pace/awareness to be living offside.
Personal highlight was when Yalcouye played a peach of a ball into space behind the last defender, and Cullen stood there and gave him a bollocking.
I am not sure if Liam needed a podiatrist today because his feet were literally all heel and no toes.
Vipotnik (for all his limitations) does offer a little more in holding the ball up - and unusually showed us some great movement for his goal.
I really don't think we can let this window close without adding a bit of quality up front - even if it is a short term loan until more permanent targets become available.
Short viewing I know - but man Stamenic looked a really good player in his cameo - and Galbraith continues to dazzle wherever you play him.
