Why play Widell on the wing when he isn't a winger?
I can see the midfield three being Galbraith as the anchor, Franco with license to roam and Widell playing slightly ahead / in the hole.

Ronald will almost certainly start on one flank and the other will be either Wales or if fit Eom/Inoussa.

I'm guessing Sheehan will pick Fulton to start in this one, bit of experience on a tough away day

Only for this game.
Can't see Inoussa or Eom starting due to re ent injuries. I think he will want Fulton in there(I know).

Some perspective for the panic stricken.

Yes we know our issues

Boro have a new Manager who some are already think it's the wrong appointment. They are changing the way they play to wingbacks favoured by Edwards. They have shipped 2 goals a game in pre season so still adjusting to a new system so maybe a good time to play them.

They have been quiet on recruitment and a number have been unsettled through transfer rumours including Hayden Hackney.

They also have some injuries too

Notoriously tricky place for us to go - think we've lost our last 5 games there?
But they're not the team they were, new manager and a mixed bag in their pre season as well.
That being said, I can see us struggling as we looked miles off it on Saturday, injuries obviously not helping our cause.
Would snap your hand off for a draw.
Likely win for them though 1-0, maybe 2-0.
I was going to say we won there 3-0 just after the first Covid shutdown so we can't have lost five in a row, but that was six seasons ago already 😳

It's also not our worst run there, we lost seven in a row in the 50s and 60s including 6-2 twice!

Is Vipotnik injured or do you just think he's so out of favour with Sheehan that he won't even make the bench?

Injured toe according to OS match report if I remember correctly
If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd suggest it's because we've got a move lined up for him but we won't pull the trigger on it until we sign a striker...

In my opinion we need another striker through the door even without trying to flog Vipotnik.

Yes Wales can also play as a forward but we want a specialist striker who can hold up play, press well and get on the end of chances. That's not far off the complete lone striker, that kind of player is not cheap or easy to find even for the top clubs in the world
