S25/26 | The EFL Championship | The Official Match Thread | Middlesbrough FC v Swansea City | The Riverside Stadium | 3pm | Saturday 9th August 2026

Injured toe according to OS match report if I remember correctly
If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd suggest it's because we've got a move lined up for him but we won't pull the trigger on it until we sign a striker...

In my opinion we need another striker through the door even without trying to flog Vipotnik.

Yes Wales can also play as a forward but we want a specialist striker who can hold up play, press well and get on the end of chances. That's not far off the complete lone striker, that kind of player is not cheap or easy to find even for the top clubs in the world

The trend I am observing - and one of the things that has pleased me the most..is that our early signings were mostly (Galbraith?) only blips on the radar when they were at the stadium wearing the jersey.
As soon as the names start getting batted around in the media - I believe that it becomes unlikely to happen.
We are not in a position to gamble financially in a bidding war - and nor should we.
Keeping everything crossed that there will be further surprises revealed.
