S25/26 | The MATCHDAY Thread | Swansea City v Wrexham AFC | 8pm | Sky Sports Football | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

I actually don’t mind the hype for any game.
Cardiff will always be our main game and for good reason.
But any game that has a bit of an emotional charge as matos puts it, just adds to the fun!
I hope they (Wrexham) do well, just nowhere near as well as us.
I’ve never ever had that hope for the scum and never will.

We are trying to make it into some huge rivalry it’s not in an attempt to piggyback on the marketing reach of Wrexham.

It’s the marketing equivalent of that meme where Alan Partridge is standing desperately shouting ‘Dan’ over and over, whereas we are standing there shouting ‘Ryan’.

I highly doubt that people at the club are thinking "I hate Wrexham, they are our rivals".

A "rivalry", however manufactured, adds something to a game that makes it more interesting to the average Swansea resident who is on the fence about whether to turn up to games.

The BBC and Sky have been forcing the rivalry narrative so the club have leant into it to get some fans more excited about the game.

If we get an extra 1/2 thousand tonight then it's obviously been a good strategy.

Thats Parky's team talk sorted.
Just the little boost we needed. Load gun, aim at own foot, fire.
Welcome to Jackarmy.net. It’s nice to play a match v a Welsh side that isn’t a bubble fixture. I went to watch the Swans play Wrexham many years ago and it was a cracking away trip. Up through mid Wales and stopping off in some delightful countryside pubs. Had a food in the town centre and then went to the Turf to play pool before the match. We lost I seem to recall. We were behind the goal.
